Marsai Martin Won This Award For The 3rd Year In a Row!

Marsai Martin has picked up another NAACP Image Award!

The 16-year-old actress won the Outstanding Performance By a Youth (Series, Special, Television Movie or Limited Series) award on Wednesday evening (March 24), for her work on black-ish.

This is the third year in a row that she has won that particular honor, and her fourth time overall. She’s been nominated in that category six times.

“So grateful … thank you for always supporting me and my craft. So humbled. much love @naacpimageawards,” she wrote on her Instagram story.

Also winning awards that night were Jamie Foxx for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance – Motion Picture for Soul, Netflix’s Family Reunion won Outstanding Children’s Program, Disney Junior’s Doc McStuffins won Outstanding Animated series and the show’s star Laya DeLeon Hayes won Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance (Television) for voicing the title character. Soul also picked up Outstanding Animated Motion Picture. It was a big night for Disney!

Marsai is also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for black-ish. That category will be announced this upcoming Saturday (March 27).
