The annual event brings together over 1,000 attendees, who work towards full LGBTQ equality and civil rights. The night was filled with a Silent Auction, and inspiring speakers, all of whom are making a difference for the LGBTQ community.

The Hate U Give‘s Amandla Stenberg, Leave No Trace‘s Thomasin McKenzie, and A Quiet Place‘s Millicent Simmonds were all nominated for Best Younger Actor/Actress for their work.
The award went to Eighth Grade‘s Elsie Fisher.

Amandla just recently opened up about one of the most important scenes in The Hate U Give – where Chris tells Starr he doesn’t “see color”.
They shared that the sentiment “doesn’t cut it in today’s day and age.”
“Starr urges him to think critically about her experience as a black person,” Amandla adds. “And she explains to him why he can’t look at her without any lens of color because he has to think about how being black affects her everyday experiences. It affects her everyday life. It affects the way that she traverses the world.”
