Brett Dier will for sure be back for the final season of Jane The Virgin, and he’s already making us anxious about what’s going to happen.
If you recall, at the end of the season four, the entire world let out a collective shock when Michael returned to the series after “dying” in the season three.
“It’s not a twin,” showrunner Jennie Snyder-Urman shared with TVGuide. “We’re not doing another twin. The question of ‘is it really Michael?’ will be the season opener and be resolved in the season opener.”
Brett headed to Twitter to tease fans about what’s to come on the series.
“This final season is going to be the most insane,” he wrote. “I can’t wait for you all to see this!!!! It will blow your mind.”
Even though Jane the Virgin won’t be back for a while, it’s safe to say we won’t be ready then either. Send help!
Our jaws actually dropped to the floor when we watched the season four finale of Jane The Virgin over the weekend – and we know yours did too – because Michael (Brett Dier) is back!
The first we thought was that this was Michael’s long lost twin or something – however, showrunner Jennie Snyder-Urman reveals it’s not.
“It’s not a twin,” she shared with TVGuide. “We’re not doing another twin. The question of ‘is it really Michael?’ will be the season opener and be resolved in the season opener.”
And it looks like it’s not just the fans who are shocked about Michael’s return, but also the characters.
“It’s suspicion meets with shock meets with the place Michael is currently in — and I’m calling him Michael for the sake of this conversation,” she shared. “It’s a few things working together that will cause a lot of the drama when we come back.”
Jennie also says that his return plays more into the love triangle the show first started out with Jane, Michael and Rafael.
“I liked for Rafael, he did something very selfless, bringing him back even though he knew it would risk his relationship,” she says. “That’s always been his biggest fear: ‘If Michael was here, would Jane choose me?’”
Jane the Virgin will return this fall on The CW for its’ final season.

The former Pretty Little Liars actor just announced that his upcoming photography book, “Hollywood”, is available for pre-order.

Keegan Allen and his BFF for life Brett Dier had possibly the best time at the Nintendo booth at E3 Gaming Convention in Los Angeles this week.
The two actors checked out the new games, alongside Jordan Fisher, Garrett Clayton and Maze Runner‘s Dexter Darden.
In a recent interview, Keegan opened up about the impact playing Toby Cavanaugh on Pretty Little Liars has had on him.
“Every time I meet fans on the street or out or at any of these events…, it’s always my opportunity to thank people for believing in the character and allowing me to have that avenue to continue to create art around me,” he shared.
Keegan adds, “I think without Pretty Little Liars it would have been a little bit of a different path to create. It’s been really, really wonderful and incredible.”
Gina Rodriguez and her cast mates got together for a Jane the Virgin panel discussion over the weekend.
Also in attendance were Yael Grobglas, Brett Dier, Andrea Navedo, and Jamie Camil, as well as showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman at the 2017 Vulture Festival at Milk Studios on Saturday (May 20) in New York City.
During the panel, Gina opened up about Brett‘s character’s death on the show.
“It was the worst experience literally to date as an actor in my life,” Gina said (via EW). “It’s almost as though Brett’s beautiful talent and his heart – he helped sacrifice for the bigger journey of Jane. It really is beautiful to see somebody go through this transformation, as we do as human beings, where we go from being kind of naive and so in love with this romance and this idea that nothing bad in life happens if you just play it by the book. One plus one equals two. And that’s not the way life works, and that’s not a bad thing either.”
