Who knew Keegan Allen and Brett Dier were such good pals?!
The 27-year-old Pretty Little Liars star and 27-year-old Jane the Virgin actor were spotted laughing it up together outside the Montalban Theatre on Sunday (March 12) in Hollywood.
Both Keegan and Brett are in the middle of career transitions right now.
The former is gearing up for the final episodes of PLL to air, while Brett was recently – SPOILER ALERT! – killed of his CW show.
We can’t wait to see what these two talented dudes do next.
We still can’t believe that we won’t be seeing Brett Dier on screen when we watch Jane The Virgin anymore.
Michael was definitely one of our favorite characters on the show, and quite possibly, on all of television — and it looks like it was the same for Brett.
“I was shocked. I was really shocked,” Brett says of Michael’s death. “You know when actors are like, ‘I felt like Michael, this character that I played, was such a big part of me’? I always thought that was wishy-washy and I was like, ‘Eh, shut up.’ But … I get it.”
He adds, “It makes so much sense. Michael does feel like a huge part of me and having to kill him off was very difficult for me to do. I felt like he was a friend of mine, or something. It was very weird.”
Brett also spoke about what he’ll miss about Michael the most — and it’s going to make your heart break even more: “The love he has for Jane.”
“The amount of love he has for Jane, and how sincere he was in that relationship. I’m going to miss that Michael and Jane relationship because I thought it was a really beautifully written relationship…I also like the fun stuff with Rogelio,” Brett added.
“I liked the comedic moments that I got to do [and] the detective stuff was fun too. It was just tough to memorize the large amounts of dialogue like cracking the case. That was tough for me because there was a lot of exposition and terminology and names like Mutter and Sin Rostro, [and] you’d only have a day. But the action part was fun.”
If you missed it, Brett will be back for some episodes in the future.
Even though Brett Dier‘s character Michael was killed off of Jane the Virgin last night – rest assured, he will be back.
Executive producer Jennie Urman confirms that Michael will appear in flashbacks at some point.
“Definitely, definitely bringing Brett back. And there will be things that you hadn’t seen before, and there will be things that you have,” Jennie told THR. “The tricky balance is when to bring him back, because you don’t want to bring him back too soon so that the audience doesn’t feel the loss of him, because that needs to settle and feel real. But you feel him throughout. I can’t emphasize that enough.”
She continued, “The episode that comes after this one is one of my favorite episodes we’ve ever done. You see everything that’s changed in the three years and you still feel the warmth of Jane and Michael, so I’m excited for people to see that and to also see how it opens up our stories and our storytelling.”
Jane the Virgin airs Mondays @ 9PM on The CW.

Brett Dier, who was – SPOILER ALERT! – just killed off the show left a touching goodbye voicemail for co-star and on-screen wife Gina Rodriguez on his last day of filming.
“The night I shot Michaels death scene Brett left this video in my phone,” Gina wrote on Instagram. “He told me it was ok to share it. I play it often. You are missed Michael. #janethevirgin @brettdier”

The Jane the Virgin cast is saying farewell to one of their own.
During last night’s episode, Brett Dier‘s character Michael was sadly killed off, and the entire cast took to social media to send their love to Brett.
“I have had such an incredible time on this show,” Brett wrote on Instagram. “It was one of the biggest moments of my life. Playing Michael has been a life changing experience, and I’m so thankful for it. I appreciate all my fans support, and all the beautiful tweets and comments about my characters journey. This cast and crew, writers and directors, I will never forget. You guys are truly incredible people. And I’m so glad I got to meet you, grow with you and have you all in my life. Most giving, generous group I’ve ever encountered. I will love you all forever. Truly…You felt like a part of me, and I always thought it was nuts when actors said that. But I get it. You will always be in my heart. Lots of love everybody. and thank you for this experience Jennie Urman. So grateful.”
