KJ Apa's 'I Still Believe' Heading to VOD, Two Weeks After Release

KJ Apa‘s new film I Still Believe is already headed to VOD, just two weeks after hitting theaters.

The movie, which also stars Britt Robertson, was released on March 13th, just days before movie theaters around the country shut down due to the coronavirus.

Now fans who didn’t catch it in theaters will be able to watch from home on March 27th.

Lionsgate announced that the company still supports a theatrical release window, but this is obviously an extraordinary circumstance as current movies are unable to be viewed in theaters.

“The theatrical experience is core to our business, and exhibitors are our integral partners and allies. With theaters closed nationwide due to these unprecedented events, we want to continue to make I Still Believe available to consumers. We’re enormously proud of the movie that the Erwin Brothers created and are grateful to be able to share it with audiences for their home viewing pleasure,” Lionsgate chairman Joe Drake said in a statement.

Despite most audiences staying home for the past week, the movie still grossed $9.8 million at the domestic box office and it earned an “A” CinemaScore.

This Is How KJ Apa's New Movie 'I Still Believe' Fared at The Box Office Opening Weekend

KJ Apa and Britt Robertson‘s new film I Still Believe was still released this weekend, despite the Coronavirus pandemic.

While many other movie releases were pushed back, the Jeremy Camp biopic came out as planned and didn’t do too bad, given the circumstances.

A lot of theaters across the US put a limit on how many people could be in each theater, while people also just stayed home, causing the lowest box office numbers 22 years.

I Still Believe came in second place at the box office with $9.5 million earned from 3,250 theaters. It brought in the most of the new movies out over the weekend, according to Variety.

Disney/Pixar’s Onward held the top spot for a second weekend, bringing in an additional $10.5 million. It’s total comes to $60.8 million in North America and $101 million globally.
