Candice Patton Dishes on What To Expect When 'The Flash' Returns This Week

Candice Patton is opening up about what fans can expect to see on The Flash as it returns from its’ winter break on The CW.

Speaking with Popsugar, the 30-year-old actress revealed that all the focus is still on family.

“Everyone’s on their own journey,” Patton explained. “This season is really about family and legacy and everyone’s trying to come to terms with that in their own way.”

Candice continues, saying that Barry and Iris are more focused on Nora and their own family unit.

“It was shocking for both Barry and Iris to see their future daughter as an adult,” she shared. “But I think it’s helped their relationship, knowing they have a chance at a very stable future.”

She adds, “That was always Barry’s worry: as a superhero, can you really have it all? The wife, the house, and children? I think Nora’s presence is an indication that his future does hold all those things.”

But things are just a bit complicated because Nora is fighting side by side with Barry.

“He’s got his daughter from the future who’s trapped there, and he’s fighting for her in a way that he’s never fought for himself,” Candice says. “Going into the rest of the season, he’s going to be dealing with that even more — Iris as well. They have something outside of themselves to fight for now.”

The Flash returns TOMORROW, January 15th on The CW.

Candice Patton & Grant Gustin Look Back at 100 Episodes of 'The Flash'

Candice Patton and Grant Gustin are kicking off Tuesday with a lot of feels for The Flash fans.

The two actors, who play Barry Allen and Iris West Allen on the hit CW show, are looking back on the series as their 100th episode is right around the corner.

“A couple of months ago, before we began the craziness of the crossovers, we shot our 100th episode of The Flash. A couple of days ago we all(mostly all) got together to celebrate that feat,” Grant wrote with a pic of the full cast on Instagram. “I know I’ve been spoiled with this experience.”

He continues, “All of these people and many, many others that aren’t pictured have helped make the television show that has been my home for the past 5 years. I don’t know how much longer we’ll get to do it exactly (we don’t plan on stopping anytime soon), but this milestone definitely made me stop and appreciate how far we’ve come.”

“Thank you to everyone who has been there watching and supporting us along the way,” Grant added at the end.

Candice was equally as thankful, if not more, for the show and the opportunities that have come because of it.

“It’s been quite the journey. I’m a different person than I was 5 years ago. Grateful to those I’ve met along the way who have nurtured me, supported me, had my back, and just had plain fun with,” she writes. “I know not every show or actor has this experience and for that I’m grateful.”

She also gave a shout out to all the fans who’ve been supportive throughout the years: “Thank you for your passion and your continued viewership. ‘There is no Flash without you.’”

The Flash‘s 100th Episode will air on December 4th on The CW.

'The Flash's Candice Patton Spills on the Future of Iris & Nora's Relationship

Candice Patton is spilling on the new season of The Flash!

The 30-year-old actress opened up about the relationship between Iris and Nora, the grown daughter she has yet to even conceive, which got off to a rocky start.

“There was a fun moment between us at Jitters, where Iris is just so desperate to try to relate to her daughter. She’s trying to pretend like she gets it — she wants this connection so badly — but Nora is just not interested, based on things that are happening in the future,” Candice told TVLine.

She continued, “I always worried, ‘I hope this doesn’t continue over the course of the entire season,’ because I don’t think fans want to see Nora and Iris at odds for too long. Thankfully, it won’t be that way for very long. We’ve got a couple of episodes where Iris and Nora are finding their way, and then we see them kind of reconcile and get on a really great path.”

We’re glad to hear that things work out for the mother-daughter duo!

“It’s never enough for me, personally as an actress,” Candice shared. “I don’t think we’ve really explored that enough on our show.”

She continues that she’s “always pushing to see Iris at her true calling and her true passion, because I think it’s really important for us to see women doing their jobs — not just being a love interest, but seeing how they contribute.”

“I think Iris’ contribution, not only as a team leader, is her passion, which is writing and being a journalist,” Candice adds.

Iris got to show of her journalistic skills in last night’s episode, too, where she realized Team Flash was facing the same person who killed Gridlock.
