Cierra Ramirez is opening up about her time in quarantine last year.
In a new interview, the 25-year-old Good Trouble star shared that the time off helped her get out of her comfort zone.
“At first, I think I loved the idea of being able to sleep in, but then it got to a point where staying home and not working, I’m someone that really just needs to go, go, go,†she told Euphoria magazine. “Otherwise, I just really don’t feel my best. So, I think quarantine definitely helped me get out of my comfort zone. I found different ways to be creative and stay productive.â€
She also shared some of the things that she occupied her time with.
“Social media, in the beginning, was a really nice way to distract myself. I didn’t really like watching the news too much and getting really just scared about the world, and everyone went through their banana bread phase, and then Tiger King,†she said. “But then things got really real with Black Lives Matter and all of these topics, and I think that there was almost a reset with social media that I really loved to see. I feel like I’ve grown so much, learned so much.â€
If you missed it, the season premiere date for Good Trouble was recently announced!
It was just revealed that the long-awaited next season of the Freeform series will premiere on Wednesday, February 17th. They also shared a sneak peek at the season.
Good Trouble was put on hold like every other production earlier this year, due to the pandemic, and in May, Cierra and Maiashared an update with fans.
The girls revealed that because of the shut down, the show wasn’t going to be ready to premiere in the summer, as originally planned.
“Good Trouble was one of the shows that stopped shooting in order to ensure the safety of all of our cast and crew, and sadly that means that Good Trouble will not be ready to return in the summer as planned,” Cierra said.
“But I promise you, that when we come back, we are coming in hot,” Maia added. “We just have to hang in there until that time comes.”
The cast will also take part in a table read, directed by Michael Medico, who has directed episodes of both The Fosters and Good Trouble. Co-creator and EP Peter Paige will read the stage directions and fellow co-creators and executive producers Bradley Bredeweg and Joanna Johnson will read an introduction. To top it off, Kari Kimmel will sing the theme song live!
While the video is from February, Cierra shared it on her Instagram account on Friday (June 5) as it’s something that should be seen during the current Black Lives Matter movement.
“The Trouble With: Not Seeing Color,” Cierra wrote. “I’m just gonna leave this here.”
The PSA is in response to an episode of Good Trouble where Emma‘s character Davia is struggling to connect with her students and tells one kid that she doesn’t see color in her classroom.
The stars and executive producers of the series shared a video explaining the future of the show, which was renewed for season three back in January.
Cierra and Maia both shared the video on their Instagram accounts and Maia left a bittersweet comment on Cierra‘s post.
“This thumbnail is the closest I’ve been to you in months ðŸ˜,” she wrote. Aww!
Good Trouble was originally planned to have a summer 2020 premiere, but because of COVID-19, along with many other shows and productions, they had to shut down.
The third season will now premiere in 2021 on the network.
