Ian Somerhalder is opening up about all those rumors regarding a season nine of The Vampire Diaries!

The 42-year-old actor, who starred as Damon Salvatore, talked about the online chatter on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live.

“I have not heard anything about a season nine,” Ian said. “I mean, what would, you know, like what would happen Stefan and Damon are, you know, Damon has like gray hair and they’re, they have canes like, ‘Oh, I got, gotta feed the baby.’ You know what I mean? No, listen, it ran it, it ran a great course. And now it’s still living. That’s what’s so amazing. It’s still living.”

Ian and his on-screen brother Paul Wesley are still close friends to this day, and even started a business together!

Ian Somerhalder says V Wars is “not done.”

The Vampire Diaries actor gave fans an update on his series on Instagram on Saturday (April 4), following news of the show’s cancellation by Netflix after one season.

“VWars news Streaming from my Airstream,” Ian captioned the video below. “In these strange and dark times that we find ourselves navigating, I just want to say thank you. Here’s an update on VWars from my silver bullet think pod.”

“VWars is NOT DONE,” he continued. “There is life for Dr. Swann and this incredible story. Please SHARE this and spread the word, not the VIRUS. This was supposed to send last night but I think my internet went out…”

ICYMI, Ian Somerhalder and his Vampire Diaries co-star Paul Wesley announced earlier this year that they are going into business together.

Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley – aka the Salvatore brothers – have started their own business together!

The Vampire Diaries co-stars have remained close friends and are now launching their own company.

“We love each other. We have wanted to kill each other about 800 times. But that means brothers,” Ian said on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “Not only were we on a television show together for eight years, but now, we’ve started a company together. It’s really special.”

“The Salvatore boys, the Salvatore brothers have bourbon,” he revealed to host Kelly Clarkson. “It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Earlier this year, Ian and Paul gave fans a little treat when the met up at the InStyle And Warner Brother‘s Golden Globes after-party.

We almost got a Vampire Diaries reunion at a Golden Globes after party!

Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley reunited at InStyle And Warner Brother‘s Golden Globes after-party on Sunday night (January 5) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The duo were also joined at the party by Nina Dobrev and Kat Graham were all in attendance at the event. Ian was also accompanied by his wife Nikki Reed.

While only Ian and Paul stopped to take photos together, we can only hope their was a Vampire Diaries reunion inside the party!

Joseph Morgan found a sweet connection between his and Ian Somerhalder‘s new shows!

Joseph‘s new series Brave New World will premiere in 2020, and Ian Somerhalder‘s new show V-Wars is now streaming on Netlix.

“Last day shooting #BraveNewWorld today,” Joseph tweeted. “This project has been epic.”

“In a weird twist of fate we watched the first ep of #VWars last night starring my bro @iansomerhalder,” Joseph Morgan added. “His first line of dialogue: ‘It’s a brave new world’!”

The guys co-starred on The Vampire Diaries, which ran for eight seasons from 2009-2017.

Ian Somerhalder is getting candid about what it was like working with his wife Nikki Reed on his new show V-Wars!

The Vampire Diaries actor and the Twilight star teamed up for some of the episodes of the Netflix series.

“It was really amazing,” Ian told Fox News. “Initially, the producers… wanted her to play my wife, and she said, ‘No, I appreciate that,’ but she wanted to play something that was more unexpected, and she did and crushed it.”

“She’s now this really well-known jewelry designer, and she’s built this incredible sustainable company,” Ian continued. “So to see her go in ultra-prepared… breastfeeding our baby, making sketches on conference calls, building this company, put it all down, walk onto set, deliver these powerful, nuanced performances, give everyone a hug and leave — you’re just like, ‘Whoa, what was that?’”

“She’s really a powerhouse, and we are all grateful as producers that she came and really did us a solid favor,” he added. “It was amazing being able to watch her and be on set with her because we’re so lovey-dovey in life and these characters were sort of at each other a bit. It was an amazing experience. I was also directing. Being able to do that with her and set up the scenes and then rehearse with her and then go back and work on camera angles and, then [she] and I would come back together and shoot the scene, and she would leave set… I owe her 20 years of back massages.”

Nikki Reed plays the ex-wife of Ian Somerhalder’s Luther Swann.
