Jahbril Cook will soon be seen starring in the new movie musical A Week Away!

The actor is making his feature film debut in the Netflix movie, playing George.

Here’s a synopsis: Troubled teen Will Hawkins (Kevin Quinn) has a choice to make – go to juvenile detention or attend a Christian summer camp. While at camp, and with the help of his music, new friends and love interest (Bailee Madison), he learns the healing powers of kindness, forgiveness, and faith can be found in the most unlikely of places. Jahbril will also be seen in an upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie.

Ahead of tomorrow’s (March 26) Netflix premiere of A Week Away, JJJ got to know more about Jahbril Cook with 10 Fun Facts. Check them out below!

• 1. I grew up in Juneau, AK but moved to Greensboro, NC for high school.
• 2. I went to Columbia University, where I studied stage acting and playwriting on a full-ride scholarship.
• 3. For my college thesis, I wrote a one-act musical set at summer camp, so A Week Away was a perfect first feature.
• 4. I love to bake.
• 5. I play several instruments.
• 6. Leo sun, Capricorn moon, Aries rising.
• 7. I have historically been sorted into Slytherin, but see myself as more of a Hufflepuff.
• 8. My go-to karaoke song is “Redbone” by Childish Gambino.
• 9. I am a big fan of anime.
• 10. My latest project is a supporting role in the Disney Channel Original Movie Spin, coming this summer!

This week has brought two songs that have to do with Georgia – Chloe x Halle released their version of “Georgia On My Mind” and Justin Bieber debuted the music video for his new song “Peaches,” from his just released album Justice.

“we are happy to be given the opportunity to record our version of the timeless “Georgia On My Mind” for the Masters Tournament. thank you @espn ✨🖤,” Chloe x Halle shared on Instagram.

Justin‘s new song and visual features Daniel Caesar and Giveon. He opens the song with “I got my peaches in Georgia,” which is the first line of the chorus.

We also have some new music from country artists Dustin Lynch, featuring MacKenzie Porter, and Hunter Hayes, plus a new song from the upcoming Netflix movie musical A Week Away.

Rising stars Angelina Jordan, Madeline The Person and Cody Lovaas all released new tracks and videos, as well as The Voice winner Brynn Cartelli!

The first few songs from the upcoming musical movie A Week Away were just released!

Stars Bailee Madison and Kevin Quinn are in all three tracks, one of them being a duet between just the two of them.

“Let’s Go Make a Memory” features Bailee, Kevin, Jahbril Cook, Kat Conner Sterling and Iain Tucker, “Place In This World” features Kevin and Bailee, and Kevin goes solo for the stage version of “Best Thing Ever.”

The upcoming musical movie will be premiering on Netflix on March 26th, and the trailer was just released earlier this week. Check it out here!

The new film, which was filmed back in October 2019, stars Bailee Madison as Avery and Kevin Quinn as Will.

At first a fish-out-of-water, Will opens his heart, discovers love with a camp regular (Madison), and sense of belonging in the last place he expected to find it.

A Week Away also stars Jahbril Cook, Kat Conner Sterling, Sherri Shepherd and David Koechner.

Along with the trailer, it was just announced that the movie will premiere on March 26th on Netflix. We can’t wait!!!

Anna Cathcart and Kerri Medders are both heading back to the Disney Channel!

The two young ladies have joined the cast of the Disney Channel Original Movie Spin, which will star Diary of a Future President‘s Avantika Vandanapu in the lead role.

The upcoming DCOM follows an Indian American teen who discovers her artistic side through the unique world of DJ culture and learns she has a passion for creating mixes that blend the textures of her Indian heritage and the world around her.

Also joining the cast include Bollywood’s Abhay Deol, UK comedian/actor Meera Syal, Aryan Simhadri, Michael Bishop, Manjari Makijany and Jahbril Cook.

Anna of course starred in two of the Descendants movies and the mini series Fast Layne, as well as the Netflix hit movie series To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.

Kerri was previously in an episode of Disney XD’s Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything, and she most recently starred on Netflix’s Alexa & Katie.

The streaming service has acquired the rights for A Week Away, starring Kevin Quinn and Bailee Madison, Deadline reports.

The faith based musical centers on Will Hawkins (Quinn), a troubled teen who has a run-in with the law that puts him at an important crossroad: go to juvenile detention or attend a Christian summer camp.

At first a fish-out-of-water, Will opens his heart, discovers love with a camp regular (Madison), and a sense of belonging in the last place he expected to find it.

The film also stars Sherri Shepherd, David Koechner, Jahbril Cook, Kat Conner Sterling, and Iain Tucker.

No release date has been set yet.
