Jillian Shea Spaeder is opening up about herself with JJJ!

The 18-year-old actress can be seen starring in the new Disney+ movie Godmothered, alongside Isla Fisher, Jillian Bell and Willa Skye.

Here’s a synopsis: Set at Christmas time, Godmothered is a comedy about Eleanor, a young, inexperienced fairy godmother-in-training (Bell) who upon hearing that her chosen profession is facing extinction, decides to show the world that people still need fairy godmothers.

Finding a mislaid letter from a 10-year-old girl in distress, Eleanor tracks her down and discovers that the girl, Mackenzie, is now a 40-year-old single mom (Fisher) working at a news station in Boston. Having lost her husband several years earlier, Mackenzie has all but given up on the idea of “Happily Ever After,” but Eleanor is bound and determined to give Mackenzie a happiness makeover, whether she likes it or not.

Jillian plays Jane, Mackenzie’s oldest daughter, and she even gets to do something she loves!

“I was thrilled to be cast as Jane in Godmothered. It was a dream role for me, because I also got to sing and play guitar,” she told us. “Most of my scenes were with Isla, Jillian [Bell], Mary Elizabeth [Ellis] and Willa, so we really felt like a family by the end. I know they will all be my friends for life.”

“We filmed in Boston in the middle of winter, so it was pretty cold out, but I fell in love with that city and hope to go back sometime,” Jillian added about their filming location.

Jillian Shea Spaeder will also sing the songs “Rise Up (Joy to the World)” and “Hero,” which will play during the end credits, and be available on the soundtrack, out on December 4th.

The film also stars Jillian Bell as the godmother in training, Willa Skye as Isla‘s younger daughter Mia, June Squibb, Santiago Cabrera, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Jane Curtin, Artemis Pebdani, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Stephnie Weir.

Godmothered premieres on Friday, December 4th on Disney+!

Here’s a synopsis: Two students compete in a high school presidential election, and we see how one student’s vote can change everything. This short film promotes the importance of voting and educates young viewers on how to participate in the upcoming 2020 election. This film is brought to you by young filmmakers who directed, produced, and wrote the project.

JJJ is so excited to premiere Jillian Shea Spaeder‘s brand new single, “Barely Changed”!

The Walk the Prank starlet is giving JustJaredJr.com readers a first listen at her new song and chatted with us about the story behind the track.

“Music has always been a part of me, so I’m fortunate to be able to express my thoughts and opinions in my songwriting,” she shared with us. “I try to write songs that people find meaningful and can interpret in ways that are relevant to their own experiences.”

Jillian added, “‘Barely Changed’ is about realizing that someone is not doing anything to become a better person or fix their past mistakes. Sometimes it takes a while to realize you’ve outgrown a person.”

“Barely Changed” will be released on all digital retailers on Friday, January 11th.
