Katherine McNamara and Luke Baines are co-starring in a new horror movie!

The Shadowhunters co-stars are part of the cast for the new quarantine-filmed The Untitled Horror Movie.

Also in the cast are Claire Holt, Never Have I Ever‘s Darren Barnet, Timothy Granaderos, and Emmy Raver-Lampman.

Luke co-wrote the movie with Nick Simon, and shared that the title is part of the joke, and not just a temporary title.

“Until a distributor buys it and takes it away,” he told Vanity Fair. “That was one of the recurring jokes we had with it. This group of actors couldn’t name their own movie. So it is right now called The Untitled Horror Movie.”

“The horror comedy is about a group of needy and desperate young stars from a once-popular TV series who learn, via video conference, that their show has just been canceled,” Vanity Fair says of the synopsis. “Fearing obscurity, they decide to stay in the spotlight by making a quickie horror film—but while shooting it, they perform a ritual that accidentally invokes an actual demonic spirit. Mayhem follows.”

Each of the actors did everything on their own, including makeup, camera set up, lighting, and more. Everything was filmed and done remotely, and it was all shot in one week!

The 24-year-old actress shared her thoughts on what’s going on in the world right now, some good things to come out of the pandemic, and dished some advice on getting through this time.

“Hello world! First of all, I want to take a moment to say I hope you and your loved ones are safe, happy, and healthy during this time. It’s not easy for anyone and I wish you all the best,” Katherine wrote. “Secondly, I want to give my greatest thanks and heartfelt gratitude to the healthcare workers, first responders, essential persons, and others on the front lines who are keeping things running while working to heal the world. You are super heroes in real life and we are forever in your debt. I hope you feel the love, support, and gratitude sent your way by so many every day – at a safe social distance of course…”

“One beautiful thing to come out of this period of social distancing is the creativity and the art that is being spread throughout the world,” she said. “Every effort to bring a smile to someone’s face, a bit of comfort to those who are uncertain, or support to those who are fighting tirelessly every day to heal the world, has a profound depth and beauty because it is serving to unite us as a human community for the greater good of the world.”

Katherine McNamara is making sure her Shadowhunters co-star Will Tudor has a special 33rd birthday!

The actress took to Instagram on his big day, Saturday (April 11), to share a sweet slideshow and message.

“Happy birthday to my favorite adventure companion, debate partner, and wilderness wanderer,” she wrote. “My dearest @WillTudor1 : You are, in a word, extraordinary.”

“Your mind, your heart, your smile, your art, and your wit are gifts to all who encounter you but most to the ones who know you best,” she continued. “I’m so happy we stumbled into each other’s lives.”

“You never cease to make my smile a little brighter, my laugh a little louder, and my step a little lighter,” she added. “Thank you for simply being you. Here’s to many more adventures. Katherine McNamara just dropped a new sogn!

The 24-year-old actress and singer unveiled “Just Like James“, with 100% of the proceeds going towards the WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, and matched by @google.

Through April 30, for every $1 that is donated, Google will donate $2 (up to $5 million).

“From #SocialDistancing With Love: #JUSTLIKEJAMES. You know how much I love a good pun/play on words, so here’s a little bop I recorded 6 years ago full of them,” Katherine shared on Instagram.

Katherine revealed that the song is a nod to James Bond.

“I am a lover of puns and plays on words, particularly with my music, so to get an opportunity to create things with intelligent lyrics and that are not only are fun to listen to, but also make you think a little bit is really exciting for me,” Katherine told Hollywood Life. “I didn’t write this song, but when I heard it initially, I thought it was so thoughtful and such a neat take on a classic trope, that everyone loves a girl doesn’t want to just be a Bond girl, she wants to be more.”
