Lexi Underwood almost gave up acting right before landing her role in Little Fires Everywhere!

The 16-year-old actress revealed that she wanted to pack up and go home instead of going to the audition for the show because she had just lost a different pilot.

“I was ready to pack up and go home. I didn’t want to do the audition for Little Fires…I’d been doing this for almost five years now. It’s been a journey. There’s been a lot of nos. There’s also been a lot of yeses,” Lexi told HarpersBAZAAR.com

She continued, “I’m not from L.A., I’m from D.C. It was that sense of missing home at that point. I was like, I don’t even know what I’m doing. My mom told me, ‘You’ve been wanting this audition for so long. Just go in and give it your all, and whatever happens, happens. And after, if you don’t book it and you want to go back home, then that’s totally fine.’”

Storm Reid hits the red carpet at the 2020 NAACP Image Awards held at Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Saturday (February 22) in Pasadena, Calif.

The 16-year-old Euphoria actress was joined by her When They See Us co-stars Asante Blackk and Caleel Harris.

When They See Us picked up the award for Outstanding Television Movie, Limited-Series or Dramatic Special, and Caleel was up for Outstanding Actor in a Television Movie, Limited-Series or Dramatic Special, but lost out to their co-star Jharrel Jerome.

Also in attendance were Us‘ Shahadi Wright Joseph and Evan Alex. Their film was nominated for Outstanding Motion Picture and Outstanding Ensemble Cast in a Motion Picture, while Shahadi was nominated for Outstanding Breakthrough Performance in a Motion Picture, which she lost to Marsai Martin for Little.

Asante‘s This Is Us co-star Lyric Ross stepped out as she was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, and Outstanding Performance by a Youth (Series, Special, Television Movie or Limited Series). She unfortunately did not win either award.

Little Fires Everywhere actress Lexi Underwood was also in attendance. Lexi appeared in several episodes of Netflix’s Family Reunion, which won Outstanding Children’s Program.

Many of the awards were handed out the night before. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees!

The 19-year-old actress stepped out for a press brunch hosted by Hulu on Wednesday (February 19) at Ross House in Los Angeles.

Jade was joined by her co-stars Gavin Lewis, Lexi Underwood, Megan Stott and Jordan Elsass.

Little Fires Everywhere follows the intertwined fates of the picture-perfect Richardson family and an enigmatic mother and daughter who upend their lives. The story explores the weight of secrets, the nature of art and identity, the ferocious pull of motherhood – and the danger in believing that following the rules can avert disaster.

The show premieres on March 18th on Hulu.

Joey King looks lovely in a mini dress while attending the Entertainment Weekly SAG Awards Nominees Celebration held at Chateau Marmont on Saturday night (January 18) in Los Angeles.

The 20-year-old actress is nominated at the 2020 SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a TV Movie or Limited Series for her role in The Act. She’s also a SAG Ambassador.

Also in attendance at the event were Dove Cameron, Emily Osment, Francia Raisa, Marsai Martin, Logan Browning, Destry Spielberg, Alexander Ludwig, Juliana Harkavy, Marisol Nichols, Max and Charlie Carver, and Luna Blaise.
