One Direction‘s 10th anniversary is coming in just less than a week!
While there has been much speculation and teasing of how the group is going to celebrate, we finally have some details.
According to Simon Jones PR, there will be a special 10 Years of One Direction website launching on their anniversary next Thursday (July 23).
They note it “will be an immersive and exciting interactive fan experience. The site will take the form of a timeline charting the history of the group, from the first audition right up to the start of their hiatus. It will host an archive of music videos, artwork, TV performances, behind-the-scenes and rarely-seen content, all in one place.”
A new celebration YouTube video will also be released that “will document highlights of the band’s career, from forming on The X Factor to releasing their single ‘History’, including clips from music videos, performances and candid behind the scenes video content. And of course the special relationship they have with their fans.”
In addition, One Direction will release new, reformatted EPs that will have b-side tracks, rare songs, remixes, live recordings and acoustic versions all grouped into one place, available on streaming platforms.
We can’t wait to see everything come together, and hope for more from the guys!!
Liam Payne shared a new TikTok video on Wednesday (July 1) and it features one of his One Direction band mates!
In the video clip, the 26-year-old singer went on FaceTime and called “H” before Harry Styles appeared on the screen.
Liam sported a bushy beard for the video, and unfortunately, there was no sound from a smiling Harry and it got awkward quick.
“Someone’s got the giggles, oh, that’s nice,” Liam says. “Alright, it’s getting weird now… speak to ya later?”
Though the video doesn’t appear to be an actual FaceTime call, it did bring some fans to be a little frustrated as they wait for the upcoming 10th anniversary of One Direction.
“Stop playing with my emotions like that,” one fan tweeted at Liam in all caps.
“july just started and ur already attacking me it’s going to be a long 23 days,” another fan wrote.
If you didn’t know, July 23rd marks the tenth anniversary of when One Direction was put together as a band on The X Factor, and Liam has previously hinted that the guys are planning something to commemorate the big day!

Liam first auditioned for The X Factor in 2008, but didn’t make it past the boot camp round.
During his audition in 2010, Liam sang the Michael Buble version of “Cry Me a River”, which got him four yes votes and a standing ovation from Simon Cowell. He then didn’t make it to the judges’ house round, but was put in a group and formed 1D, and we’re forever grateful!!

During a recent Instagram Live, Liam sent his well wishes to the happy couple, who are due in September!
“Also this week, didn’t really wanna leave it out, wanted to make sure I said something on my own place before I started getting asked about it relentlessly by everybody,†Liam said over the weekend. “I just wanted to say congratulations to Zayn and Gigi obviously, you know, they’re having a baby.â€
