Olivia Rodrigo Reveals Special Gift She Just Got From Taylor Swift

Olivia Rodrigo is dishing on a gift that she recently received from her idol Taylor Swift!

In a new radio interview with SiriusXM Hits 1, the 18-year-old opened up about the present and it’s special meaning.

“She is absolutely the kindest individual in the whole world. Actually last night, like literally like 12 hours ago, I got a package from her with this like handwritten note. And she gave me this ring because she said she wore one just like it when she wrote Red and she wanted me to have one like it and I, and like all of this amazing stuff, she’s like hand wrapped these gifts,” Olivia said.

“I truly like don’t understand where she finds the time. First of all. But like also I feel so lucky that I just like was born at the right time to be able to look up to somebody like her. I think she’s incredible. All of her support and like genuine, like compassion and excitement for me is just been so, so surreal,” she added.

Olivia also opened up about the gift, which came with a handwritten letter from Taylor, in another interview.

“I got a letter from Taylor Swift last night, which was insane. I opened it for the first time so I’m still reeling,” she told Radio.com. “Literally, my tears are on it, my like snot from sobbing my eyes out on it. She’s incredible, and I love her.”

“One of my favorite lyrics of hers is, ‘Past me I wanna tell you not to get lost in these petty things, your nemeses will defeat themselves before you get the chance to swing.’ It’s in ‘Long Story Short’ off of evermore and um so she wrote about that in her letter a little bit. She’s like, ‘I think we make our own luck and I think when you’re kind to people and you know, do what’s right, it always comes back to you in the best ways.’ So yeah, I just adore her and that’s what I’ve literally been thinking about since I opened that thing last night. It’s the only thing on my brain,” Olivia shared.

“I actually can’t talk about it, I’m gonna cry. It’s like so insane, I just can’t even comprehend.”

Taylor Swift's Fans Flood 'Ginny & Georgia' With Negative Reviews After She Calls The Show Out For Sexist 'Joke'

Swifties are quick!

Taylor Swift took to Twitter on Monday (March 1) to slam the Netflix series Ginny & Georgia for a comment they made about her.

In the series, there’s a moment where one of the characters says, “What do you care? You go through men faster than Taylor Swift.”

Taylor responded to this “joke” and called it “lazy, deeply sexist.”

“Hey Ginny & Georgia, 2010 called and it wants its lazy, deeply sexist joke back. How about we stop degrading hard working women by defining this horse sh*t as FuNnY. Also, @netflix after Miss Americana this outfit doesn’t look cute on you 💔 Happy Women’s History Month I guess,” she wrote on Twitter.

After Taylor slammed the series, which is currently the No 1 show on Netflix in the US, and the streaming service, thousands of her fans went to Google and left negative reviews on the show. At the time of this post, the show has a 1.5 audience rating on Google, with over 9k reviews, a majority of them giving it a one star.

This isn’t the first time that Ginny & Georgia has faced backlash. Just last week, many were calling out the show for another scene.

Taylor Swift Announces 'Lover Fest' Is Officially Canceled

Taylor Swift has shared some sad, but expected news.

The 31-year-old “Love Story” singer announced on Friday (February 26) that her Lover Fest Tour has been canceled.

“I love coming on here to tell you good news, or to share a new project with you. It’s not my favorite thing in the world to have to tell you news I’m sad about. I’m so sorry, but I cannot reschedule the shows that we’ve postponed,” Taylor said in a statement on Instagram. “Although refunds have been available since we first postponed the Lover Fest shows, many of you hung onto your tickets and I too hung onto the idea that we could reschedule.”

“This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone’s plans and no one knows what the touring landscape is going to look like in the near future. I’m so disappointed that I won’t be able to see you in person as soon as I wanted to. I miss you terribly and can’t wait til we can all safely be at shows together again,” she added.

Taylor was originally supposed to tour in the summer of 2020, but of course had to put it off due to the pandemic.

With her time off from touring, Taylor wrote, recorded and released two albums, and has been working on re-recording her old albums, starting with Fearless.

This Is Why Taylor Swift Didn't Re-Record Her First Album 'Taylor Swift' First

Taylor Swift announced her first re-recorded album, but it’s not the first album she released!

The 31-year-old revealed that Fearless will be the first re-recorded release, which was her second album.

You may be like us and wonder why she didn’t start with her first album Taylor Swift.

“Deciding on what album to re-record first was pretty easy for me,” Taylor said in an interview with Republic Records / MCA Nashville. “I always gravitated towards Fearless because I think that, as an album, it was a real coming-of-age. And I look back on that album and it fills me with such pride, and it was an album about hope, and lessons learned, and the effervescence of teenage youth and all that. What more fun than to go back and explore that?”

“I think that I tried to keep it as close to the original as possible, and the additional songs that I’ve added are songs that I think add insight into what the album almost was, because every time you make an album, you leave some songs off, and I think it’s really cool that the fans will get to have the full picture this time around,” she added.

Taylor released the first track “Love Story (Taylor’s Version)” and fans have been going crazy over the production and new vocals of the re-recorded song!

Taylor Swift's New Version of 'Love Story' - Listen Here & Read Lyrics!

The day has finally arrived and Taylor Swift has released the re-recording of her hit song “Love Story,” which you can hear now!

We’ve been waiting for Taylor‘s re-recordings ever since she announced her plans over a year and a half ago. The plans was set in motion after her master recordings were sold to Scooter Braun.

Taylor started re-recording in November 2020 once she was legally allowed to do so and she plans on releasing new versions of all the albums she made for Big Machine Records. She just announced that Fearless (Taylor’s Version) will be released on April 9 and “Love Story” just arrived.

A couple months ago, Taylor told GMA, “So far, of the ones I’ve recorded, I think it’s been the most fun doing ‘Love Story’ because the older music, my voice was so teenaged and I sometimes, when I hear my older music and my older young teenage voice, it makes me feel like I’m a different singer now.”

You can download the song now on iTunes or stream it below from YouTube.
