Tegan Marie waves to all the fans in the crowd while riding on the Girl Scouts of the USA float during the 2018 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on Thursday (November 22).
The 15-year-old “Keep It Lit” singer celebrated the organization’s work to elevate girls through STEM.
The “Building a Better World” float celebrated the girls who are building a better world through science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
It featured elements in space science (exploring telescopes, the moon, the sun, and stars), engineering (using levers to connect the globe and pedal a bicycle to power the float) and STEM in the outdoors (decorating the float with a rainbow, flowers, and Earth), as well as many STEM-related badges.

Directed by Veronica Zelle, the country singer’s liberating video pays tribute to Elvis Presley’s iconic 1968 Comeback Special, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
Set to the sound of her upbeat self-worth anthem – all about inner strength and holding your head high when young love turns sour – Tegan flips the script on an artist who famously made girls weep everywhere he went. Now it’s her turn to make the boys cry.
“I just love Elvis, that’s about the size of it,†she said. “I recently visited Graceland and it all just clicked. I got to understand him more, beyond the music. I was most moved by how much he cared for people. When my managers suggested we make a video as an homage to Elvis for my new song, it was an automatic yes!”
The video opens with Tegan playing acoustic guitar with a band before she makes a couple different outfit changes while performing on stage. Watch below!

The “Take Me Back” singer joined the “Only Want You” crooner and the “Lonely Girl” songstress at the event held on Friday (June 22) in Los Angeles.
Megan dazzled in a strapless metallic purple mini dress; Skylar rocked a denim dress with thigh-high boots; and Symon slayed in a black top and heels with a light pink oversized check suit.
The 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards will take place TONIGHT, Friday, June 22nd from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, and air the next day, Saturday, June 23rd on Disney Channel, Radio Disney, the Radio Disney app, and the DisneyNOW app.
Danielle is up for two awards tonight – Breakthrough Video of the Year for “Swayâ€, and CMT Performance of the Year for “Stand Up for Something” from the 2017 CMT Artists of the Year.
