Troye Sivan‘s brand new song “Take Yourself Home” is finally out, after teasing it for over a week!
The 24-year-old not only unveiled the song, but a new lyric video as well.
“‘Take Yourself Home’ is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written,†Troye said in a release. “The song is kind of a pep talk with yourself and the place you’re from. Grappling with your place in the world. I write these songs as a diary entry, then as life and places change and relationships change, songs can take on a new meaning entirely. Clearly that has happened for this song, with what is going on in the world right now.â€
Along with the new track, Troye has also launched three new t-shirts, with all proceeds to be donated to WHO COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund and Spotify’s COVID-19 Music Relief project.
You can listen to the song now and shop the shirts at TroyeSivanShop.com!
Troye Sivan was the victim of a catfishing scheme.
The singer – who recently teased a new song – was catfished by Russian pranksters pretending they were environmental activist Greta Thunberg and her dad.
“Story time: i got catfished,” Troye captioned an Instagram video on Thursday night (March 26). I’m bored and I’ve wanted to tell this story for ages.”
It all started when Troye‘s manager received a phone call from someone who pretended to be Greta‘s dad. The prankster said that they were planning something called “Stars Save the Earth” and they had a whole to-do list that included swimming with sharks with Leonardo DiCaprio, saving the animals in Africa with Prince Harry, and more.
“I was like, ‘Oh my god, this girl is so inspiring, and now she wants to work with me.’ That’s crazy,” Troye said in the video.
Troye‘s manager gave the pranksters his phone number and Troye only exchanged a couple text messages with the fake Greta before they realized what was going on.
After Troye‘s manager talked on the phone with the “dad,” they watched a video of Greta Thunberg‘s real dad and realized it wasn’t the same person.
Turns out, Troye Sivan isn’t the only one who fell for the prank. See what happened to Prince Harry at
