'The Perfectionists' Author Reveals That Some Scenes From the Books Won't Make It To The TV Show

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists isn’t coming to Freeform until next year, however, OG author Sara Shepard is starting to prepare us for the show.

Speaking with PopSugar over the weekend, the author opened up about the new series, and just why you possibly won’t see your favorite book scene on the small screen.

“Books are one thing and TV shows are another,” she says. “There are some things in the book that just don’t make sense for the show. You have to adapt to a screen and a season.”

Sara also revealed that she’s excited to welcome Alison and Mona to Beacon Heights – they aren’t in the book versions at all.

“Alison is moving to Beacon Heights as a teacher, and Mona and Alison work together,” she says. “Mona is one of my favorite characters so it was great to see her come back.”

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists stars Sofia Carson, Eli Brown, Hayley Erin, Janel Parrish, Sasha Pieterse, Sydney Park and Graeme Thomas King.
