The Cast of 'Spongebob Squarepants' Will Play Human Versions of Their Characters In New Special!

The cast of Spongebob Squarepants are becoming humans for the first time!

That’s right, the voices behind your favorite characters SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, Squidward and Plankton will play human versions of their characters.

In a new mixed live action and animated special, “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout,” Patrick and SpongeBob journey to the surface world, where the duo come across a few familiar faces during lunchtime rush at The Trusty Slab restaurant. Meanwhile the Bikini Bottom residents set up a surprise birthday party for SpongeBob.

David Hasselhoff is also set to guest star as himself, wearing his famous red lifeguard attire. Kel Mitchell, Jack Griffo, and Daniella Perkins will also guest star in the special.

“SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout” will air Friday, July 12, at 7pm ET/PT on Nickelodeon!
