HBO Max is launching this week and there are some super popular animated movies that will be on it!
Starting Wednesday (May 27th, fans can watch their favorite Studio Ghibli movies when the new streaming service goes live.
Among the films from Hayao Miyazaki that will be available include Howl’s Moving Castle, Ponyo, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and The Secret World of Arrietty.
“We are excited to be working with HBO Max to bring the complete collection of Studio Ghibli films to streaming audiences in the US. As a premium content brand, HBO Max is an ideal home for our films,†Koji Hoshino, Chairman of Studio Ghibli, said in a statement. “Upon launch of the service this spring, existing Ghibli fans will be able enjoy their favorites and delve deeper into the library, while whole new audiences will be able to discover our films for the first time.â€
The upcoming series will be out next Wednesday (May 27) when HBO Max launches, and we have the first preview episode and behind-the-scenes video.
During the Jonas Brothers appearance, Elmo shared that he thought really hard about questions to ask them and came up with the “best question ever”.
“Can all of you make a goofy face?” Elmo asked the guys. How cute!
“I think we can, right guys?” Nick replies.
“Yeah, we can,” Joe says.
“But I think we should see Elmo do a goofy face first,” Kevin adds.
The guys also talked about competing against each other, and being supportive of each other. They even competed in a “Silly Freeze Dance” contest!
Later in the episode, the Jonas Brothers return as the musical guest where they sing a song about brushing your teeth. Skip ahead to the 10:12 min mark to watch that.
The Katy Keene season one finale just aired and many are wondering if there will be a second season.
While no decision has been made yet, there is hope for a season two.
Earlier today (May 14), The CW President Mark Pedowitz said that they have extended the options for the cast to return.
“The linear ratings have been soft but we have seen some good streaming viewership,†he added, via Deadline. “We’ll make a decision in a few weeks.â€

There are “active discussions†with the studio about Green Arrow and the Canaries according to the exec, but it has not yet been ordered to series. That and The 100 prequel series are “very much alive.â€
Selena Gomez is teaming up with HBO Max for a new kind of cooking show.
The 27-year-old singer is set to host the untitled project with the network, that will focus on cooking in quarantine.
“I’ve always been very vocal about my love of food. I think I’ve been asked hundreds of times in interviews if I had another career, what would I do and I’ve answered that it would be fun to be a chef,” Selena shared in a statement about the show.
Adding, “I definitely don’t have the formal training though! Like many of us while being home I find myself cooking more and experimenting in the kitchen.”
During each episode, Selena will team up with a different master chef remotely and together, they’ll take on all types of cuisine, share tips and tricks and deal with everything from smoking ovens to missing ingredients.
Each episode will also highlight a food-related charity.
While there’s no set debut date yet, HBO Max will launch this month.
