Sofia Carson Really Loves This 'Descendants 2' Character (Exclusive)

Sofia Carson Really Loves This 'Descendants 2' Character (Exclusive)

Sofia Carson is of course a big fan of her Descendants 2 characer, Evie, but she also really loves another character, in particular.

The 24-year-old actress recently told JJJ that Dizzy (played by Anna Cathcart) is one of her favorites.

“She has a really beautiful storyline with Evie that has a lot to do with Evie’s growth in the film,” Sofia told us. “Dizzy is Drizella’s daughter. She kind of grew up with Evie. They were almost like sisters. They both dreamed of being fashion designers and living in the Isle. Dizzy wasn’t lucky enough to be given a second chance – Evie was. So Dizzy kind of ignites that sense that sense of ‘I was lucky,’ and she finds a greater calling.”

As for her favorite thing about Evie, Sofia said, “Evie really has become the moral compass of the group for Mal (Dove Cameron) for the VK’s. What I love so much about Evie is that she has a beautiful heart, and she loves so much.”

Descendants 2 airs July 21 on Disney Channel.

Sabrina Carpenter, Jace Norman, & More Celebs Reveal Their Favorite Phone Apps (Exclusive)

Even famous people are obsessed with their phones.

We recently caught up with some of JJJ‘s favorite celebs and asked them about their most-used phone apps.

See what they had to say:

Sabrina Carpenter: “Oh, that’s hard! I don’t really play games or anything on my phone. I don’t have time! I’d say Instagram!”

Brent Rivera: “Oh, that’s a hard one. My favorite app I’d have to say is probably Instagram or something. I don’t want to be cliche. I don’t really know what app, I don’t really play any games except like this one game that’s a plane game and I have to land a plane. It’s so fun! It’s like the best thing ever, so maybe that’s my favorite app. It’s called X-Plane 10.”

Marcus Scrinber: “My favorite app, and I’m going to do a shameless plug, but my favorite app is YouTube! I love watching all the amazing videos that people like Brent put out and all those funny clips. YouTube is just probably one of my favorite apps, Instagram like Brent says, I love the iMessage app, it’s pretty cool too.”

Jace Norman: “Probably Snapchat. No, Instagram. Instagram, for sure.”

Peyton List: “Instagram is definitely the social that I check the most. I feel like I can get lost on the explore page and just looking up my friends’ photos. And once you start creeping, it’s hard to stop!”

Kendra-Leigh Timmins: “Definitely Instagram, because I think pictures are such a fun way to capture memories!”

Maia Mitchell & More Celebs Reveal The Last TV Shows They Binge-Watched (Exclusive)

Are you a big binger when it comes to television?

Sometimes we don’t have time to watch our favorite shows live, and other times we just love to kick back on the weekend and watch ten episodes of a show we’ve never seen before.

We recently caught up with some celebs and asked them which show they last binge-watched. Check it:

Maia Mitchell: “Season one of 24.”

Sabrina Carpenter: “13 Reasons Why! I was excited to see that show and once I started, I couldn’t stop!”

Marcus Scribner: “I feel like the last show that I binge watched was Grimm, and I just watched the entire five seasons which was really, really good. I enjoyed those. Watching The Walking Dead has been an amazing experience.”

Brent Rivera: “I binge watch Black-ish! And I also binge-watch YouTube videos honestly. You can keep on scrolling and just keep on pressing YouTube videos, one after another. You just can’t stop.”

Peyton List: “I binge watched Westworld. I think it’s so good and it’s such an interesting concept. Typically, I binge-watch four episodes, and then I don’t watch anything for a week because I’m shooting. But then I’ll go and binge-watch the rest.”

Kendra-Leigh Timmins: “The last show I binge-watched was Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I’d never seen it before and I LOVED it. I love special effects makeip and stunts so it was right up my alley, plus there’s nothing like watching a girl kick some serious vampire butt.”

This is How the 'Descendants 2' Newbies Bonded With the Original VK's (Exclusive)

This is How the 'Descendants 2' Newbies Bonded With the Original VK's (Exclusive)

We knew the original cast of Descendants was close, but the D2 additions became part of the family as well.

We recently caught up with Dove Cameron and Sofia Carson to talk about what it was like working with newbies Thomas Doherty, China Anne McClain, and Dylan Playfair.

We also talked to China about coming into the successful franchise!

“It was a little bit overwhelming at times, to be honest. The sets are so massive and unique. You haven’t really seen anything like it. With Uma’s pirate ship, and all of these amazing sets, and Thomas and Dylan were so excited as well,” China told us. “It was great. The first movie was so good, and the whole cast welcomed me. I felt like I was family after the first day.”

“It’s been so special to grow our family,” Sofia said. “And they all feel like long-lost brothers and sisters who were always part of the family. China is amazing. She’s a force to be reckoned with and she did an incredible job bringing Uma to life.”

“We met our first day, but a month before shooting, we do bootcamp where we learn how to sword-fight, we learn choreography, we work with Kenny [Ortega, the director] on our character development,” she continued. “I met China when she was recording ‘What’s My Name?’” I met Dylan and Thomas and everyone in our first day of rehearsal. You bond pretty quickly in those rehearsals because you’re there for hours and hours of the day.”

Dylan was completely new to me. He’s still one of my favorite people on the planet,” Dove told JJJ. “He’s incredibly intelligent, so if you made that character really intelligent, that would be Dylan. He’s so happy-go-lucky. He’s so sunny.”

China and I have known each other for quite some time,” she said. “I feel like it’s sort of a written rule that all the Disney girls have to cross paths. We actually met at a bunch of auditions. So I was really excited to be working together.”

As for her real-life boyfriend, Dove told us, “And then Thomas and I are obviously dating [she shows us a cute pic of them as her phone background]. That was the best. It was amazing to be able to work with them.”

And this cast spent a lot of time together off-screen too.

“We were always together. There’s this restaurant, we’d go there every night,” China said. “We went there so much that Thomas noticed when they changed one little thing on the menu. It was super fun. Or we would spend time in someone’s hotel room, and we’d play music, have our guitars, and sing and dance. It was really fun.”

Descendants 2 airs July 21 on Disney Channel.
