The mother! actress – who recently announced that she will be taking some time off from making movies – was seen touching down at Charles de Gaulle Airport on Wednesday (September 27) in Paris, France.
“I’m taking one [a break]. I don’t have anything set for two years,” Jennifer shared on The Today Show. “I don’t know [what I'm going to do]. I don’t know, start making pots? I think I’m just taking a little break. I’ll see you in six months.”
After starring in at least one movie for the past seven years, Jennifer is looking forward to some time out of the spotlight.
“[People] feel so entitled to everything,” Jennifer said. “You know, like when I’m getting photographed just like walking to Starbucks, I’m like why does anybody feel—why do you feel entitled to this? [At first,] I was angry and resentful because I thought that I deserved the right to do what I love and to do my job, and then still have privacy, and then after a few years you’re like, but that’s not the way it is, it’s just not.”
The show’s creator, Josh Schwartz, just spilled in a new interview with Vulture about Jennifer‘s audition for the part of Serena van der Woodsen, which was ultimately played by Blake Lively, when she was just a teenager.
“We did not realize this at the time, but Jennifer Lawrence really wanted to play Serena and auditioned. This story came to us secondhand, but we were told she definitely auditioned and was bummed to not get it,” he said.
“We can’t remember if we saw it or not. It was ten years ago, and she would’ve been how old, 15?”
It’s safe to say Jennifer is handling the rejection just fine these days.
“Not at all,” she told E! News when asked if she’s starting to feel the pangs of motherhood. “They are actually getting less and less as I get older, which is starting to worry me. I don’t think that’s how it’s supposed to work! When I was 21 or 22 I was like, ‘I can’t wait to be a mother.’ Now I’m like…[shocked face].”
Jennifer also opened up about her new movie Mother!, directed by her boyfriend Darren Aronofsky.
“I believed in the metaphor and the message that Darren wanted to get across,” she shared. “When I first read the script I thought it’s too dark. I didn’t even want the script in my house and then I realized that’s why he’s a genius. That’s why I have always wanted to work with him. He’s unafraid. He’s bold and I do agree with the message.”
