Judging by these new pics from the backdoor pilot of Arrow, we are 100% excited and ready for a spinoff!
As previously reported, Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy are set to star in the potential new series.
The episode is titled “Green Arrow & The Canaries”, and the summary reads: “It’s the year 2040 in Star City and Mia Queen (McNamara) has everything she could have ever wanted. However, when Laurel (Cassidy) and Dinah (Harkavy) suddenly show up in her life again, things take a shocking turn and her perfect world is upended.”
“Laurel and Dinah are tracking a kidnapping victim with direct ties to Mia and they need her help. Knowing it will change everything, Mia can’t help but be a hero and she, Laurel and Dinah suit up once again to save the city.”

Katherine McNamara brought in the new year with two of her CW channel mates – Charles Melton and Batwoman star Camrus Johnson!
The three CW stars spend the New Year holiday together on a sunny beach on a spontaneous getaway.
“Happy New Year from the kids that bought tickets to a beautiful place extremely last minute. Here’s to another year of blessings and spontaneity â˜€ï¸ @melton @kat.mcnamara,” Camrus shared on his Instagram with a collage of Polaroid pics.
Katherine added with another group pic, “Good vibes and ocean tides…”

The 24-year-old actress opened up in the glossy about her role on Arrow, and how Shadowhunters fans are still close to her heart. Check it:
On booking the role of Mia Smoak: “It has been a huge gift and it was a big responsibility. When I first started filming, I didn’t know that Mia was Oliver Queen’s kid. In fact she wasn’t even named Mia at that time. And when I found out who her character was, I knew immediately that I have my work cut out for me. Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards have spent so many years doing it.”
On her character Mia Smoak: “The people that I love are people that I keep very closely. And like Mia, I will do anything for the people that I consider family; the people that are close to me.â€
On Shadowhunters’s legacy: “The fans took a show that was about magical creatures, angels and demons and they fought to the core; to the heart of the characters, to what the story is really about – about love and acceptance, and about the fact that no matter who you are and no matter what you’re made of, you have the potential to be a hero based on the choices that you make.â€
A portion of the proceeds for this issue will be going to Girl Up campaign.
Katherine McNamara bubblegum pink hair is absolute goals!
The 24-year-old Arrow actress, who made a transition from blonde to peach to the pink hue, showed off her chic new hair at Rachel Zoe‘s Winter Box of Style disco themed party at the Peppermint Club in West Hollywood, Calif., on Wednesday night (December 11).
Katherine was joined by Victoria Justice inside the bash, who was dressed as every bit of a disco queen.
The two actors, among others, were treated to a glam-and-go gifting experience including products from the exclusive Rachel Zoe x LORAC Cosmetics Hollywood Glamour Beauty Collection, and also received Rachel Zoe’s latest Box of Style curated with the designer’s favorite luxury accessories, skincare and beauty must-haves for Winter, as well as handbags from her brand-new collection launching in Spring 2020.

Katherine McNamara is opening up about Mia taking over the Green Arrow after Oliver’s death.
If you missed it, the 24-year-old actress’ character was given her own suit and handed the legacy in the first part of the Crisis On Infinite Earths event.
“I think it’s really overwhelming for her,” Katherine shared with ET. “She’s certainly never thought of herself as a hero or being worthy of taking on that mantle, given her checkered past and her relationship with the vigilantes, and with this team… Creating that element of that redemption story that he has, she sort of mirrors that in a way.”
“And it’s something that she understands, you know, much in the same way that, in enjoying the show, I understand the legacy that Steven and/or Oliver had built,” she added. “It becomes a really interesting turn in the character, and having someone so different and yet so similar take on this mantle.”
If you watched the first part of Crisis of Infinite Earths last night, you saw that Mia Smoak has a brand new suit and Katherine McNamara is showing it off.
The 24-year-old actress took to social media so share the details of her new look with fans.
“New hood. Who dis? Thanks Dad for the new duds! @stephenamell,” Katherine captioned.
She also shared another behind-the-scenes pic from the set, of her “kat-napping”: “I don’t know about you but I’m floored after that episode! ;) PS – yes that’s me…Kat-napping… at 4am…on a break on set… they couldn’t find me. They thought I was a mannequin…. yup.”
Katherine also spoke to ComicBook.com about the responsibility of donning the iconic green threads as the Green Arrow.
“It’s a responsibility — and it’s one that I don’t take lightly, but it’s one that I’m very excited to get to carry a little bit,” she shared. “Working with Stephen, this season, has been so wonderful because I’ve gotten to watch him do just that and I’ve gotten to watch how he handled this responsibility and this legacy. And it’s been great to follow in his footsteps, in a sense.”
