Yesterday, we sadly reported that Keiynan Lonsdale would not be a series regular on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow‘s upcoming fourth season, and now he’s speaking out on the subject.

The 26-year-old actor and singer shared the reasoning behind the decisions of him not taking on Wally West/Kid Flash full time.

“Yo! Soo as a lot of you have now read, I’m not returning next season as a series regular for @cwtheflash or @cw_legendsoftomorrow. It’s definitely not a total goodbye or ‘see ya never’ situation, cause Wally West will still be round when you need him the most! :) It’s just that it won’t be full time anymore,” he wrote on Instagram.

“I’ve changed a lot in the past year (as you’ve probably noticed lol), and for infinite reasons my perspective on life & what I want from it now is just completely different. Because of that, my heart told me it was the right time to continue my journey on an unknown path, and I’m so damn grateful to both shows for honouring & respecting that with me,” he added. “I love Kid Flash, I love the family I’ve made, & I’m absolutely in love with the invaluable lessons I’ve learnt along the way. Thank you for believing in me & rooting for Wally to thrive, you honestly helped me see that i did indeed deserve to play him, & that shit right there made me a stronger actor 🙏🏾 Anyway, I hope you stick around for the new adventures, the only thing I can promise is Magic.”

Wally West is still trying to find his place in the Arrowverse.

TVLine reports that Keiynan Lonsdale will not be a series regular when DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns for season four next year.

Wally hopped over to Legends in mid-season three of the series, hitching a ride on the Waverider for a while.

However, he’s not gone from the Arrowverse permanently. Keiynan will be part of The Flash season 5 premiere this fall.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is returning this fall on Mondays @ 8PM ET/PT on The CW.

The Riverdale co-stars teamed up for the H&M-hosted event on Saturday (April 14) at The Sparrows Lodge in Palm Springs, Calif.

Camila rocked a sleeveless white cut-out top with a colorful floral skirt, and Charles stayed cool in a black and blue shirt, which he wore unbuttoned, along with ripped black shorts.

They were joined by Gregg Sulkin, Victoria Justice, Keiynan Lonsdale, Taylor Hill, Zoey Deutch, Shaun Ross, and Whitney Port.

The 26-year-old Love, Simon opened up about his decision to come out, how he identifies and his career. Check it:

On how he identifies: “I suppose if anything, I would identify as queer – that feels the most accurate. My sexuality used to be all I could think about, and now it barely crosses my mind, which is cool. I think in the future we will get to a place where we are just human and there are no made up rules for how or who we should love, but for now it’s amazing and crucial to have a community and words that represent the journey to rainbow freedom.”

On coming out: “I finally accepted myself, but at the same time I was still wrestling with shame for my sexuality. I knew I wanted to come out publicly but I was pretty against doing it online. I didn’t want to make a big deal of it. Then one night when I couldn’t sleep, I opened my phone and it randomly had my notes app up and within five minutes I had written the post and shared it to Instagram. It was possibly the coolest decision of my life to date.”

On his career since coming out: “It’s just easier overall. Ideas and inspiration flow better, colours are brighter, I make bolder choices, and there’s less time wasted on pretending to be something I’m not. My therapist years ago said something like ‘Imagine what you can create when you’re no longer afraid of what you can create’, and he was so right.”

Keiynan Lonsdale just dropped a brand new song – “Kiss The Boy“!

The DC’s Legends of Tomorrow actor wrote the song about love and was partly inspired by his new movie Love, Simon.

“The teaser for Love, Simon had dropped on YouTube and then for some reason, I don’t know why, the song ‘Kiss the Girl’ from The Little Mermaid popped up on my feed,” he told Billboard. “I was like, ‘Oh, that’s so funny. I wonder if I can do a cover of that song, but change it to about a boy?’ It didn’t work, but I was thinking about the Love, Simon trailer and I was really happy. Eventually, I got the hook, ‘If you wanna kiss the boy/ Then you better kiss the boy right now.’”

“I had so much to draw off, with the movie, my own personal life and every relationship I’d been in and other people’s stories that they’d told me,” he added.

Keiynan Lonsdale is opening up about coming out.

The 26-year-old The Flash actor revealed that he wasn’t out while filming Love, Simon and the movie helped him become more comfortable with himself.

“There’s so many beautiful LGBT stories that have been made, and we’ve heard a lot about the heartbreak and the suffering, because it’s very, very real,” he told ET. “But life can be really incredible, and when you are yourself, you don’t have to waste all that time trying to be something else. Like, that’s something worth celebrating.”

“The movie isn’t just bubbly and happy because everything’s great and groovy, it’s a celebration because you’ve been through that journey,” he added. “You’ve been through those hardships, you’ve been through all that stuff. You can smile now. You can breathe.”
