The Little Mix singer called out a news site for using Leigh-Anne‘s photo in an article about her, and said it happens all the time.
“if you’re going to copy and past articles from other accurate media outlets, you might want to make sure you’re using an image of the correct mixed race member of the group,” she wrote on Instagram story.
Jade then added another note about always getting mixed up.
“This sh– happens to @leighannepinnock and I ALL THE TIME that it’s become a running joke. The amount of interviews where we get mixed up, I couldn’t count how many photographers or journalists over the years that have shouted for one of us on set and when we’ve walked over they’ve said ‘oh, you’re Jade?’ and awkwardly brushed it off as it’s a simple mistake when we both really know why,” she said. “I’ve even had ‘Oh sorry, you look similar.’ Really?! I’m done with us just having to laugh it off now…”
“It’s lazy journalism. It’s ignorant. It’s rude. It offends me that you couldn’t differentiate the two women of colour out of four members of a group,” Jade continued. “There’s even images of me in the article followed by an image of Leigh as if they couldn’t tell we’re not the same mixed race person?!?! DO BETTER.”
Leigh-Anne recently teared up while talking about her experiences with racism. See what she said here.
Leigh-Anne Pinnock is opening up about her experiences as a black woman in the music industry.
The 28-year-old Little Mix singer shared an emotional video, talking about what she has gone through and continues to go through.
“Like many of you, I have been feeling really heavy with everything that we are seeing online and hearing on the news,” Leigh-Anne captioned the video. “In the past I have mentioned some personal experiences that were triggered due to my race. More than ever I felt like it was time that I was completely open and honest with you all because finally, the world is awake and people want to listen, help and understand.”
“I’m not doing this video for sympathy or for you to watch and then go about normal life. I’m doing it because enough is enough and hopefully from sharing this we can all do more to understand the racism that takes place. In doing this we are able to approach the bigger issue and break down systemic racism. All we want is equality and justice for our black community. 🖤,” she added.
“Let the caption speak for itself this time. â¤ï¸ðŸ’ Hasta la muerte,” Andre wrote on his own Instagram. The two have been dating since late 2016. Congratulations to the happy couple!
“We were so gutted to have to cancel the official video shoot that ourselves and our team had worked so hard on,” the girls wrote on Instagram.
But the show must go on and the “loved the concept so much that we had to get creative to make sure you could still all see it! Hope you like it as much as we do #LMTV.”
The track will be featured on their upcoming sixth album and is the first taste of their brand-new era.
“So tonight, I’ll sing another, another break-up song / So turn it up, let it play on, and on, and on, and on,” they sing. “For all of the times they screwed us over / Let it play on, and on, and on / Just another break-up song.”

It even features cameos from some special people, including Jesy‘s boyfriend Chris Hughes and Leigh-Anne‘s niece.
“SURPRISEEEE 🎉 You didn’t think we’d leave you without a Wasabi video, right?! Filmed during #LM5TheTour last year…finishing the LM5 era the right way ðŸ˜,” Little Mix wrote on their Instagram.
They added a note to check out something special at the end, which appears to be a book all about the LM5 era! We can’t wait for more details!
“Brazil, where do I even start? For 8 years I’ve been waiting for this moment and you have made it one of the most memorable trips I’ve ever had. There aren’t many places I can say feel like home, but that’s exactly how you made me feel. I felt so accepted, liberated and free on that stage it was a feeling I can’t put into words,” Leigh-Anne wrote on her Instagram after the show.
She continued, “I cannot thank you enough for the love you have shown each and every one of us, you even made pez feel the love from a million miles away (I miss you so much girl and I can’t wait for you to experience this ðŸ˜) We just have the most incredible fans you all have my heart forever! Brazil until next time, and there will be a next time because I’ve left a little bit of my heart here â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸”
We hope Perrie is feeling better soon and able to rejoin the group!
