We’ve spent the entire weekend listening to Maren Morris‘s new album, Hero, and it’s safe to say that JJJ is obsessed.
The 26-year-old country singer dropped the new record on Friday (June 3), which features her hit “My Church”, “80s Mercedes”, and nine more songs that our ears can’t get enough of.
“I Wish I Was” was the song which inspired Maren to name the album Hero.
“‘I Wish I Was’ is the most autobiographical song on this record and I admittedly was not the hero in that story, but I am the hero in mine,” Maren shared. “I’ve come such a long way from who I was in Texas, who I am as a writer, who I am as a woman today. I think the message of this record is self acceptance and awareness, and that to me is heroic.”
Be sure to download Maren‘s Hero on iTunes NOW — or, if you buy at Target, you’ll get three additional songs — “Bummin’ Cigarettes,” “Space” and “Company You Keep”.
Maren Morris gets a cup of coffee ahead of her performance on Good Morning America in New York City on Monday (April 25).
The 26-year-old country singer performed her first single “My Church” off of her upcoming debut album, Hero.
“I listen to everything, and I think that innately influences what I write,” Marenrecently shared about her musical tastes.
She added, “I hope there is a place for me in the country landscape, but I’m not too precious about it either. I love all types of music, and I think the genre lines are starting to get thinner every year.”
Hero is out on June 3rd.

Maddie & Tae pose backstage at the 2016 All For The Hall Event held at the Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday night (April 12) in Nashville, Tenn.
The country duo joined Maren Morris, Florida Georgia Line, EmmyLou Harris and more for the annual show.
If you missed it, Maddie & Tae just teamed up with Bloomingdale’s for a capsule collection with AQUA.
“Obviously we’re not the kind of girls who’re obsessed with clothes and make-up,” Tae shared about the collab. “But we want to look good! We have ideas about style and think your clothes can be cool without obsessing about it. That’s why we love everything about AQUA.”
Maddie added, “When you look good, you feel great. You just do. We don’t want our clothes to wear us… But we do want to wear clothes that say who we are. Working with the AQUA team, I think these clothes are going to be something real young women everywhere are going to want to wear, which is crazy! But it’s also everything we’ve been about since Tae and I started making music.”
The collection will be available in all Bloomingdale’s store locations, as well as online at Bloomingdales.com.
Earlier in the day, Maren was seen playing a concert during the third day at the ACM Party For A Cause event — the same event Maddie and Tae performed at Friday night!
FYI: Maddie wore a Lorena Sarbu dress with L.A.M.B. shoes. Tae wore a House of CB jumpsuit with L.A.M.B. shoes.
