We finally have a release date for Liam Payne‘s upcoming debut solo album!

The singer and J Balvin took the stage during Good Morning America‘s Summer Concert Series at Central Park SummerStage on Tuesday (May 15) in New York City.

They performed their collaboration “Familiar,” and Liam performed “Strip That Down.” He also let fans know that his new album “is out on the 14th of September, I can tell you that much. I’m really happy with it, it’s come out really nice.”

He didn’t share the album title or who will be featured on it, but he said, “I’ve got a good mix of beautiful people on my album, which is amazing.”

Liam also spoke to the future of One Direction: “I’m sure there’s time for that to come back around. And the more success we have on our own, the more success we’re going to have together in the future. We’re like The Avengers — if you want Spider-Man to sort something out, he sorts it out. But then The Hulk will go, ‘Well I’ll sort this out.’ It’s one of those things.”

Liam Payne snaps a photo on the cover of #legend magazine’s May issues, available now.

The 24-year-old musician opened up about his relationship with One Direction, their reunion plans and how he’s grown up. Check it:

On his relationship with his One Direction band mates: “I went away and the person I was in the band, I’m not him now. It was all right to be that person then, but now, I need to be something totally different. Even going to see Louis the other day – it’s nice to meet people and have them see how you are now, because you can understand all the things you might have done wrong or the things you might have regretted doing. You can say, ‘I’m different now, so whatever that was in the past, we were different people.’ We got on well in One Direction, but there were times when we didn’t. Certain members fell out with each other sometimes, but it would always come back round. So, I don’t ever think that I won’t be friends with these people for life. But I think it’s important in anything that you can think about everything you would have liked to change about yourself and then grow.”

On how he’s changed since 1D’s hiatus: “Fame made me a little bit nuts and distracted me a lot from the person I was. And it pissed me off in the end, because it was like, ‘You could have been this guy, but you chose to do this.’ Nobody really knew anything about me. I put on a front that wasn’t really me. But now that I’ve had my time away, you slowly, naturally become the person you were before you started, but with a lot more knowledge. So I feel a lot more myself than I ever did before, rather than being a part of something and having a part to play or treading on eggshells around someone. And when I sat back and thought about all the silly things I might have said and done wrong – not that I have any regrets, because I think whatever happened, happened – I think that now is the time to not be that person. I remember the day we finished, because of the place I was in, I was quite happy that we had a break. I said to the person with me at the time, ‘Thank god I don’t have to play that person again for a long time.’ It was exhausting and I couldn’t keep up with myself.”

On a potential 1D reunion: “The only way we could get any bigger is throw one massive concert where it’s basically all of us versus each other, but we’re still in a band. So if we all went like, ‘Hang on a minute boys, just going to throw this in’ and bang, on comes [Niall Horan’s] ‘Slow Hands’ and we’re all just popping along – that would be the most fun sh*t ever.”

The first concert of Taylor Swift‘s highly anticipated Reputation Tour just surpassed One Direction‘s attendance record!

The “Look What You Made Me Do” singer’s tour doesn’t even kick off until May 8 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.

Her first stop will top 1D‘s in 2014, which brought in 56,524 fans, Billboard reports.

Exact attendance and ticket sales information won’t be available until after the concert, but Tom Sadler, president and CEO of the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority, confirmed to the outlet that her first show will definitely be epic.

“The frenzy continues to grow as Taylor Swift has already broken the University of Phoenix Stadium’s concert attendance record, which was previously held by One Direction in 2014 with 56,524 fans,” he said. “With 11 days left before the show, Swift has already surpassed [One Direction's] attendance number.”

Liam Payne looked fashion forward while heading out of Radio 1 this morning!

The 24-year-old entertainer was seen while leaving their studios on Wednesday (April 18) in London, England.

Liam recently dished the the possibility of a One Direction reunion in the future.

“You know I think it [a reunion] will happen at some point in the distant future,” Liam told Promiflash.

He continued, “We’ve all spoken about it and, you know, the dream for this most fantastic show that could be, is amazing. With everybody being so successful, this in part now is so important for us to be able to make that show.”

Liam added that the group’s success as solo artists will only help One Direction become event bigger.

“It’s the only way really that One Direction could get any bigger. It’s the only way we could get more successful really, isn’t it? By being good on you’re own,” he concluded.

Even when One Direction aren’t together, they’re still doing things together — like winning the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards!

Former members Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan were all nominated in several categories at the annual award show and came out with four awards!

While Liam, sadly, didn’t pick any up (we know that will change next year!), Harry and Niall picked up two awards and Louis had one.

#OneDirectionBestFans was a number one worldwide trending topic on Twitter on Tuesday (March 6) and grabbed the attention of a couple of the One Direction guys.

Liam Payne first took notice of the trend, tweeting at the other guys, “can you believe this after so long?!!! Thank you so much you guys are unbelievable.”

Louis Tomlinson responded, “Unbelievable stuff ! Love you all.”

1D is going on their third year of being disbanded, and it doesn’t look like a reunion will be happening anytime soon, unfortunately.

Back in October 2017, Liam admitted that a reunion would be hard, given their solo careers at the moment.

We’re still holding out hope!

Camila Cabello is probably squealing like we all are about being nominated for the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards – but even more so about one certain category.

The “Havana” singer is the sole female artist in the Best Solo Breakout category, where former One Direction stars Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan are all nominated too.

It’s a One Direction fangirl’s dream!

This year’s show will happen on Sunday, March 11th @ 8PM ET/5PM PT, airing on TBS, TNT and truTV.
