Raven’s Home is a definite hit for Disney Channel!
Just before the newest episode of the show, the network announced that the new series was #1 live-action cable TV series premiere in 2 YEARS amongst kids and tweens — that’s amazing!
“During that time [while filming the original That's So Raven], I would get feedback from peers and work and everybody like, ‘You need to lose weight, you need to lose weight, and blah blah blah,’ ‘It’s not sellable,’ or whatever. And I’m just like, what? I’m so confused,” she told BuzzFeed News.
“Now we are finally able to embrace thicker body types, and I’m like, dang, I wish that was happening when I was on the show,” Raven continued. “I wouldn’t be so hungry.”
“It’s good to know that time evolves and that you can be a part of change even if you have to go through the pain to make sure somebody else has an easier time,” she added. “I understand that now.”
Raven’s Home premiered on July 21 on Disney Channel. Be sure to check it out!
We’re in the middle of summer and in JJJ‘s minds, we’re all at the beach in a place where the sun never goes down with amazing music and amazing friends.
In JJJ‘s exclusive clip from the episode tonight, Nia tries to get some much needed advice from her twin brother, but doesn’t get what she came for.
In “Big Trouble In Little Apartment”, Nia is actually having a hard time living in an apartment whose walls are closing in on her — especially with Chelsea and Levi living with them now — and turns to dad Devon (Jonathan McDaniel) for help.
Raven’s Home airs TONIGHT, Friday, July 28th @ 8PM ET/PT on Disney Channel.
Ever since we found out that Raven Symone was returning to Disney Channel in Raven’s Home, we’ve been so excited — especially when we learned that Jonathan McDaniel will also be back as Devon, her high school love.
However, we were kind of bummed out to learn that Raven and Devon would actually be divorced in the new series.
Speaking with Seventeen, Raven opened up about what led to the divorce between the characters.
“I was a part of that decision to have Devon as Raven’s ex-husband,” she shared. “Everyone was torn with the decision – who should it be? I’ve always found Raven’s relationship with Devon interesting. And like, how about a little bit of nostalgia?”

Tonight’s the night — Raven’s Home premieres TONIGHT!!!
In the premiere episode, airing @ 10PM ET/PT after Descendants 2 on Disney Channel, Nia (Navia Robinson) doesn’t believe her brother one minute when he says he has psychic visions.
Raven Baxter is back tonight on Raven’s Home, and JJJ could not be anymore excited!
“Raven has not changed,” Raven-Symone dished to ET about her most famous persona.
“I think Raven Baxter is still that fun, kooky, crazy, down for whatever, here for friends girl. But now, she has kids. So, she’s a lot more [about] teaching them to be just as crazy as her, in a loving way.”
We are here for it!
One of the best highlights for Raven for the new series is being reunited with Anneliese van der Pol, aka Chelsea Daniels.
“We had talked about working together maybe four years after That’s So Raven happened,” Raven shared. “We both were like ‘This has to happen. This has to happen. We need a job. We’ve got bills.’”
“It’s like [we] never left,” Anneliese adds. “I don’t know. I can’t explain that feeling. It’s almost as if, after you do a show, you take a bow. It feels like that, without taking the bow. It’s so gratifying.”
Raven’s Home will debut TONIGHT on Disney Channel.
