Lauren Alaina runs into Sailor Brinkley-Cook at the dance studio over the weekend in Los Angeles.
The 24-year-old singer and 21-year-old model/photographer caught up with each other as one was ending and the other was starting their rehearsals for the upcoming episode of Dancing With the Stars.
If you missed it, Lauren shared a funny story about her and partner, Gleb Savchenko‘s team name for the season.
“Introducing Team Tonkyhonk,” Lauren captioned on her Instagram. “You guys. I have to tell you how we got our team name. We did all of our first rehearsals in Nashville. Gleb came in one day and said, ‘What is a Tonkyhonk? Everyone keeps saying to go to the Tonkyhonks!’ I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants.”
She added, “I explained to him that it is HONKYTONK, but I loved it so much that it became our team name. I love my Russian (soon to be) cowboy. [Gleb] is Tonkyhonk.”

The 26-year-old singer was joined by Sailor Brinkley Cook and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy.

It was nerve wracking putting myself out there and being judged purely on my dancing, but I felt so proud of myself and how far I’ve come in just these 3 weeks! I know y’all didn’t agree with the judge’s scores, but that’s okay guys, because that means it’s only up from here & I’m only gonna get better😆 And PS…WHO DOESN’T LOVE BEYONCÉ??!?! Sailor and partner Val Chmerkovskiy danced a foxtrot to “Uptown Girl” by Billy Joel. They earned a total of 18 points from the judges.

The 21-year-old model actually found out about her mom, Christie Brinkley‘s, injury a few moments before her flight took off!
“We’re about two minutes before take off and she calls me, telling me I need to save the day,” Sailor told GMA’s Ginger Zee in an interview. “I freaked out and I don’t know if I could do this. I am so scared.”
She added that after meeting everyone on the show, she “felt this high. Just attacking something that I’m so afraid of seemed so incredible to do. She [Christie] cries every five minutes over the fact that I’m doing this.”

If you didn’t hear, the 21-year-old model will be replacing her mom on the show after Christie broke her arm. It’s rumored that she’ll be dancing with two-time mirror ball champion, Val Chmerkovskiy.

Such sad news – model Christie Brinkley was injured and is no longer able to compete on Dancing with the Stars this season.
Her 21-year-old daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, has stepped in to compete in her place this season.
“While rehearsing for the premiere of ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ Christie Brinkley suffered injuries which required surgery to her wrist and arm. She is unable to continue her planned participation on the show. Keeping it all in the family, her daughter Sailor Brinkley-Cook, a Sports Illustrated model, has chosen to quickly step in with hours to learn the entire routine and will compete in her mother’s place for the remainder of the season. We wish Christie a full and speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her in the audience, whenever possible, proudly supporting Sailor,” ABC told Just Jared Jr in a statement.
