Sarah Hyland has us dreaming of spring in her pretty lilac floral dress at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday (January 19) at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

The 29-year-old Modern Family starlet showed off all of the dress on the red carpet, next to The Boys star Erin Moriarty.

Jason Bateman is also pictured below with his wife, Amanda Anka. He presented the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series award to The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel cast.

Sarah Hyland was just as shocked as you were when it was revealed that Frank Dunphy, the father of Phil, had died on Modern Family during last night’s (January 15) episode.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the 29-year-old actress explained why she wasn’t aware of the character’s passing.

“So, I don’t read scripts of episodes of Modern Family that I’m not in, so I just found out that my grandpa’s dead along with all of you,” Sarah shared about the shock of the death.

She added, “I guess I should’ve put a spoiler alert for Grandpa Frank dying, but I was just caught off guard.”

“Like, as his granddaughter, you think I’d be invited to his funeral,” Sarah told her followers. “If it’s any consolation to those who are angry about the spoiler alert, karma hit real fast and Boo just farted in my face and the smell was so bad she had to get off the bed because she couldn’t handle the heat.”

Frank Dunphy was played by Fred Willard, who you might recognize as Mr. Stuffleby from Wizards of Waverly Place.

Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Rico Rodriguez and Nolan Gould have grown up right on screen on ABC’s hit series, Modern Family, and at times, it was difficult.

The four stars opened up at the show’s final panel during ABC’s Winter TCA Press Event this week in Pasadena, Calif., and revealed the tough times they all went through while growing up on the small screen.

“Growing up in front of everybody is difficult. It’s stressful,” Ariel shared. “Millions of people think they can comment on your life.”

Nolan recalled a time when puberty hit and it was stressful: “There’s definitely one season for me when I hit puberty right when we went on break, and then we came back and I had changed but not quite enough,” he shared.

“It’s strange having those years broadcast to millions of people. It’s like your home movies, but for everyone to see. I think we were pretty lucky we had such a great fan base that was very supportive of us.”

Ariel and Sarah both pointed out that while they did get support from fans, and their co-stars, there were others who weren’t supportive at all.

“I definitely think it’s really difficult to grow up in front of people who have an opinion on everything you do and are allowed to say it at any point, or keyboard troll,” Ariel says of online trolls and naysayers. “It’s definitely difficult but yeah, we have great support in each other.”

“I have cringeworthy season, not because of puberty, but because of health things, so I cannot stand I think it’s like Season 4 or 5, because I had very bad stretches on face and I gained like 30 pounds,” Sarah added.

She also noted that she and Ariel had stuck together while facing the haters: “That, for me, was something that Ariel and I were going through around the same time … People really love to show the love to attack women, especially, and I think Ariel is such an amazing woman … I think between the two of us, we really have gone and tackled them with all of our fighting with our might and wit.”

Sarah, who was joined by fiance Wells Adams, showed her style in a pretty pink gown. Meanwhile, Ariel opted for a neon sequined gown with a high slit.

The 29-year-old Modern Family star danced along the beach on Tuesday afternoon (December 31) in Cancun.

Sarah and her fiance Wells Adams were joined by The Real O’Neals actor Matt Shively and his girlfriend Ashley Newbrough. They were all seen dancing around the beach and the guys threw a football around.

Matt shared a video of himself falling off a ledge and into the water while Ashley attempted to save him. He wrote, “Mexico has treated me really well…. notice how Ashley heroically tries to save me after I counted to 3 and she decided not to jump… which lead to me trying to stop and… well you see the rest.”
