The would-be, could-be couple are both really good friends with driver James Hinchcliffe and came out to support him during the race.
If you remember, Sharna was James‘ DWTS partner in season 23. They came in 2nd.
“Always the winner in my book babe,” Sharna wrote on Instagram later with a cute pic of the two, adding that after seeing the crash involving Scott Dixon, she was “glad you’re safe, my heart stopped for a sec there.”
Earlier in the weekend, Sharna and Pierson both rode in the same car during the parade.
On top of the spectacular opening number, the pros also gave fans another sneak peek at the Dancing with the Stars: Live! – Hot Summer Nights tour.
There were also two more performances — an all-male pro number dancing to “That’s What I Like” by Bruno Mars; and and all-female pro number, along with Heather Morris, to “River” by Bishop Briggs.
“Normani is incredible, she gets out there,” Sharna shared of the only female celeb left. “I think she’s one of the best performers we’ve ever had.”
“Rashad is so lovable and everyone has got to know him in a different way and, again, very talented,” she adds about the football player.
Then there’s MLB player David Ross: “David — who is just a fan favorite, who has so many voters, and is really what Dancing With the Stars is all about — [is] a man that has no dance background, that just gets out there and gives it a go.”
Final verdict for Sharna? “For me, it can go either way.”
