The multi-talented duo were joined by young singer Tegan Marie at the annual show.
If you didn’t know, Maddie and Tae actually lost their record deal earlier in the year when Dot Records shut down, but then were picked up by UMG Nashville a month later.
During that down time, Maddie revealed that she went through a depression.
“If I’m being honest, I went through a really, pretty tough depression after the label thing happened… I kind of always was the person that had a plan, had it figured out, and I never kind of been like dropped on my ass before,” she shared in a video. “That was really hard and my self worth was tied into it, my purpose, everything.”
Now, Maddie and Tae are promising big music news soon and we can hardly wait – check out their tweets below!
FYI: Tegan is also pictured below performing during the ACM Lifting Lives TOPGOLF Tee-Off, and Maddie & Tae were seen at Westwood One Radio ahead of the award show.
During her trip, the 14-year-old singer performed her hit song “Keep it Lit” and “I Know How To Make A Boy Cry”, as part of Radio Disney’s #FriYayLive show.
Speaking recently with People, Tegan opened up about how she looks to Kelsea Ballerini as not only a mentor, but a sister, too.
“She is like my sister. I’ve performed with her a couple times, so I just look up to her [and] all the country artists just because they’re older than me and they know how to do all these things. I watch them and how they perform.â€
Tegan adds that once she and Kelsea “see each other, we’re like ‘Oh my gosh, hey girl!’ but we’ll comment on each other’s Instagram posts and all that stuff.â€
Tegan Marie bundles up in a fuzzy pink coat for her performance on top of the Empire State Building in New York City on Tuesday night (January 30).
The 14-year-old singer just recently debuted her new single, called “Keep It Lit”.
Speaking with CMT, Tegan opened up about the new song and music video for it.
“I wanted to write a song about having fun with my friends and family and having a big heart and sharing what I like to call ‘Litness’ with other people,” she shared. “When I walked into the studio, I said, ‘OK guys, let’s get lit!’ They said, ‘That’s a good idea.’ All my songs so far are like positive, happy, upbeat and fun.”
Tegan added about the video, which was filmed in California: “We did it up in the mountains, and it was really freezing. But that’s OK. We had the best time ever.”

If you haven’t heard, RaeLynn is the new face for TooFaced‘s Life’s a Festival collection, which is all about unicorns!
It’s actually a perfect partnership and RaeLynn admits that she has a major obsession with the mythical creature — probably too much.
“I’ve always said that I was a unicorn – my fans call themselves Raenicorns. It’s a big deal!” she shared with People. “The amount of unicorn things that I have in my house is out of control. My husband is like, ‘We’ve gotta narrow this down to only four unicorn things.’”
