VidCon Announces 2021 In-Person Convention Dates

The annual digital creator convention VidCon is going back to being held in-person this year!

The convention just announced that the 2021 event will be back in Anaheim this fall, October 21-24, 2021.

“As many of you know, VidCon is typically in the summer. Unfortunately, because of the pandemic, we’re not confident that a summer event will be feasible. We DO think that by fall we’ll be able to get together in person,” they shared. “While we miss you and the magic that online creators bring to real life, we want to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for our attendees, creators, staff and sponsors. Waiting just a bit longer gives us the best chance to safely bring that magic to everyone.”

VidCon 2021 will be adhering to COVID-19 health and safety procedures, “which may evolve as the situation develops and may include being required to wear face coverings for the duration of the event while on-site, social distancing, and non-invasive temperature checks. Refusal to cooperate with these procedures on-site will result in ejection from the venue without refund.”

In addition, the first batch of content creators that will be in attendance has been announced: Spencer X, Antonio Garza, Brent Rivera, Molly Burke, DangMattSmith, InquisitorMaster, Aaron’s Animals, Isra Hirsi, Taylor Cassidy, Alan Chikin Chow, The Montoya Twinz, MeganPlays, Alex Wassabi, Sofie Dossi, Trevi Moran and VidCon co-founder Hank Green.

VidCon 2020 Has Been Officially Cancelled

VidCon 2020 has unfortunately been cancelled due to growing health concerns.

The annual social media convention was set to take place from June 17th to 20th but will now be replaced with an event this fall.

“We were so excited about the 11th annual VidCon US, but our number one priority is always the safety and health of our attendees, sponsors, speakers, creators, and staff. Unfortunately, due to the continued uncertainty…and the precautions being taken by authorities worldwide to manage this pandemic, we have come to the difficult decision to cancel VidCon this June,” VidCon‘s general manager Jim Louderback said in a statement.

He continued, “We are working hard to bring you a VidCon US experience this fall and will keep you posted as those details come together. Don’t worry; it will still be an amazing event that you won’t want to miss!”

Current ticket holders will be refunded by April 15th. Further details about VidCon‘s fall event will be announced by June 15th.
