Kerri Medders was living her best life earlier this year, when she went to prom with one of her biggest fans!

The Alexa and Katie actress shared her experience with JJJ, from his “promposal” to her making new friends at the dance and it’s so cute.

“Last year, I was apart of a 7 week tour and on one of the Tennessee stops I went to Chattanooga,” Kerri tells us. “The school I performed at was called East Hamilton High, when I performed I met a guy named Given Daum was front row for the concert and was so excited.”

Kerri explained that after meeting him after the show, he asked her to prom then.

“I told him to ask me again in January if he was serious (you never know with time; a lot of things can happen,” she added. During that entire time, “he would find clever responses to my tweets that had to do with me being his date to prom.”

Months had passed by and in January, Given still wanted to take Kerri to prom.

It was “January 1st exactly [when] he asked me to go to prom with him, he was so persistent and determined; I admired that.”

Kerri did contact the school and make sure Given was a good guy and “nothing but amazing things were said as he was a favorite student. After all the ‘background checks’ I finally said yes to his prom invite.”

Kerri Medders has a brand new show out tomorrow — Netflix’s Alexa & Katie — and trust us when we tell you it’s the cutest show ever!

The young actress stars as Gwenny Thompson in the new show, a rival to Paris Berelc‘s Alexa.

However, you might recognize Kerri from her other projects — like her music, or from seeing her on CBS’ SEAL Team or even Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything.

Paris Berelc cozies up to boyfriend and co-star Jack Griffo at the premiere event for Alexa & Katie held at the Netflix Home Theater on Wednesday night (March 21) in Los Angeles.

The full cast — Isabel May, Tiffani Thiessen, Emery Kelly, Finn Carr, Eddie Shin, Jolie Jenkins, Merit Leighton, Nadja Alaya, Iman Benson, and Kerri Medders — gathered together for the screening, which was held in partnership with the American Cancer Society.

The series, centering on two BFFs who navigate high school while one is going through cancer, premieres TOMORROW, March 23rd on Netflix.

Cameron Boyce and Meg Donnelly walk the red carpet ahead of The Fulfillment Fund’s 2018 A Legacy of Changing Lives Gala on Tuesday night (March 13) in Hollywood.

The two DCOM stars joined Andi Mack stars Lilan Bowden and Joshua Rush, as well as Meg‘s Zombies co-stars Carla Jeffery and Emilia McCarthy.

Raven Symone, The Fosters‘ Teri Polo and Sherri Saum, Ashley Argota and Alexa & Katie‘s Kerri Medders were also at the event.

The Fulfillment Fund’s A Legacy of Changing Lives Gala honored the legacy of Cherna and Dr. Gary Gitnick’s 40 years of service on behalf of the students of Los Angeles.

The annual event benefits No Kid Hungry, which works to end child hunger in America. Guests were treated dinner from Buca de Beppo and dessert from Cold Stone Creamery. So far, they’ve raised enough money to provide over 7,000 meals for hungry kids in America!

Singer Kerri Medders is dropping her new single “Who R You?” on Thursday (Feb. 16), but she gave JJJ readers a listen to the full song today!

Kerri sat down with JJJ to talk about why this song is so meaningful to her, how it’s a side of her you’ve never seen before and how she came up with the art concept.

JJJ: Tell us about “Who R You?”
Kerri: I wanted to create a song with a bit more of a rock vibe, different from what I’ve done so far. This song represents how there are so many pressures on ‘what you need to be,’ when actually who you truly are is so much more interesting and electrifying. Don’t worry about pleasing people or changing for who you think the world wants to see. You are what the world needs.
