Asa Butterfield Jokes That He Wants To Change His Name

Asa Butterfield definitely pulled everyone’s legs in a recent interview while promoting his latest flick, The Space Between Us.

“People don’t believe me when I say my name is Asa Bopp,” he shared, which is also his Instagram handle name. “It sounds like beatboxing.”

Asa added, “There was a comet in the sky when I was born (Hale–Bopp) and my mom thought it would be nice to give me that as my middle name. It’s strange.”

If you look around the internet, you’ll find out that he was born with the middle names of “Maxwell Thornton”, however, he uses “Bopp” on all his documents.

“I wish I could change my name, but it’s not my choice,” he joked later.

Asa is also pictured below at Showcase Cinema de Lux launch event in Southampton, England earlier this week.
