Candice Patton Talks About the Importance Of Showing Iris as a Reporter on 'The Flash'
Iris West-Allen is returning to her true calling this season on The Flash – reporting and journalism – and it’s something that Candice Patton is grateful for.
The -year-old actress opened up to EW about Iris’ job and why it’s important to show her doing that job on screen.
“It’s never enough for me, personally as an actress,†Candice shared. “I don’t think we’ve really explored that enough on our show.â€
She continues that she’s “always pushing to see Iris at her true calling and her true passion, because I think it’s really important for us to see women doing their jobs — not just being a love interest, but seeing how they contribute.”
“I think Iris’ contribution, not only as a team leader, is her passion, which is writing and being a journalist,” Candice adds.
Iris got to show of her journalistic skills in last night’s episode, too, where she realized Team Flash was facing the same person who killed Gridlock.
