We’re taking a look back at all the amazing looks from last year’s Met Gala 2018.
With tonight’s event just hours away, we can’t wait to see what all the stars are wearing this year!
The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute’s Spring 2019 exhibition will be “Camp: Notes on Fashion†and it was framed around Susan Sontag‘s 1964 essay “Notes on ‘Camp.’â€
Sontag argued that camp is the “love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration … style at the expense of content … the triumph of the epicene style.â€
Andrew Bolton, the curator of the Costume Institute, told Vogue that camp “has become increasingly more mainstream in its pluralities—political camp, queer camp, Pop camp, the conflation of high and low, the idea that there is no such thing as originality.â€
Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour will co-host this year’s event with Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Serena Williams, and Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele.
Take a look back at all the amazing looks in the gallery!
Lili Reinhart went to the Met Gala for the first time this year, and she’s telling all about her night!
The Riverdale actress dished on who she met, who she hung out with the most, and what she did after the event.
“It was really wonderful, it was a really good time. It was very surreal. Something I hope to do again in the future,” Lili told Extra. “I hope it wasn’t a once in a lifetime thing. I definitely enjoyed every moment in case it was.”
“I spent a good amount of time talking to Anne Hathaway, by a good amount of time, I mean like five minutes. But good enough for me!” she added. “Talked to Dakota Fanning because I was in a movie with her sister. I kind of met a lot of great people, I was star struck and in awe of all these artists around me. I purposely walked by Lana Del Rey. I didn’t say anything, just staring at her a little bit. I was like ‘excuse me’.”
On if she went to any after parties: “One after party. I was so hungry by the end of the night. I was in a very tight corset, so all I wanted to do was go home, put pajamas on and eat. I went to an after party for a very short amount of time, and then went home, ate, and crashed, ” Lili said.
