Ashley Tisdale is opening up about overcoming challenges in the new series Becoming!
The new show comes from executive producer LeBron James and will be airing on Disney+, not to be confused with Michelle Obama‘s Netflix documentary of the same name.
In Becoming, each episode centers around a visit to the celebrity’s hometown, touring important locations central to their upbringing. A supporting cast of family members, coaches, teachers, mentors and friends are interviewed, sharing rarely heard anecdotes and insights into the star’s “becoming†story.
Here’s a synopsis: As a boy attending the Institute of Magic, a secluded mountain retreat which plays host to a bevy of aspiring young magicians each summer, Andy Duckerman (Devine) was a camp legend. Now, at 35, he’s struggling to make ends meet as a professional illusionist and is frustrated and depressed by the direction his career has taken.
But when the Institute invites Andy to return as a counselor, he finds himself in charge of the greenest and most awkward wannabe magicians, and having to deal with his former partner and current arch rival, Kristina Darkwood (Jacobs), who’s also a counselor.
As Andy slowly gains the respect of his team of ragtag artists, they in turn inspire him to nurture each of their unique talents while preparing them to compete with the camp’s more experienced magicians in the Institute’s annual Top Hat magic contest.
Adam will be hitting the stage to present award during the show.
Also in attendance was Chloe Bennet, who is there to support her movie Abominable, which is nominated for Animated Feature.
Make sure to tune in tonight for the Critics’ Choice Awards, hosted by Taye Diggs, which will air on The CW at 7pm EST. The show honors the best in both movies and TV.

Adam shared two pics on his Instagram – one of Shawn and Camila and the other of him and his fiance, Chloe Bridges. In the pics, that were taken at separate basketball games, both of the girls, and guys are dressed similarly.
“Month 4 of dating vs Year 4. #whoworeitbetter,” Adam captioned.
“We have this little tiny boat called the Duffy and I asked her to drive it for a second,†he told US Weekly. “And I never really have her do that. And so she’s like, ‘This is weird.’ And then I turned around and just stared at her for a minute.â€
“Then I just dropped to my knee and did it. But the plan was to do it in the evening, like at sunset, like on the beach and have it be beautiful. But then I just got too nervous,†Adam dished. “And all morning I just kept petting her and being like, ‘Today’s going to be the best day of our lives.’ And she was like, ‘Alright. OK Adam.’ But I’m kinda like that anyways. Some days I’ll just wake up and I’m like, ‘Today’s going to be awesome.’ But that day, I said it like 35 times.â€
Even though his proposal setting didn’t go as planned, he always knew she was the one.
“I’ve actually known for a while [that she was The One]. It was just about getting my lazy a– to a jewelry store. That was the hardest part,†he added. “I was like, ‘I gotta go find every ring!’ But yeah, I’ve known for a while.â€
The newly engaged couple posed for tons of pics on the green carpet ahead of the premiere of the new animated series, which premieres on Netflix on Friday, November 8th.
The longtime couple revealed their engagement on social media this afternoon, with Chloe showing off the gorgeous ring on her left hand.
“We are doing it!! I love this man with my whole heart and I am so excited to be with him forever,” Chloe captioned the photo on her Instagram. “I’ve known we had a special connection since we first met (well FIRST I liked the way his butt looked in his jeans and the way he made me laugh and the fact that his backpack was monogrammed which seemed VERY adult to me five years ago).”
She added, “I quickly learned that he is the kindest, funniest, most incredible man I’ve ever met. I’m so proud to be his girl and will be even prouder to be his wife. Let’s do this baby @andybovine.”
Adam added on his own Instagram, “She said yes! Well actually she said “ahh Adam†and then kissed me but I’m pretty sure that means YES!”
