The Riverdale actor posted a photo of his grandfather on Instagram on Friday (January 31).

“A photo of my grandpa from 1943,” Charles captioned the black-and-white profile shot. “Love you Papa Yu.”

“Wow literally u,” The Knight Before Christmas‘ Vanessa Hudgens commented, while singer Lauren Jauregui added, “Wait seriously?!? This isn’t you??”

Kelly Ripa (wife of Mark Consuelos, aka Hiram Lodge), wrote “Wow! That is you!!!” while and Gina Gershon (aka Gladys Jones) said, “Wow! You guys are identical!!🕺🕺”

Earlier in the day, Charles and Alexander made an appearance on Daily Pop, where they opened up about the possibility of a spin-off movie with the AMMO team.

“The truth is there is no Bad Boys without Martin or Will. They’re the heart and soul of this movie, and we nobody can take that away,” Alexander said. “Obviously, the hope is that people fall in love with this world and that they want to see more of it, but I don’t think that there’s any world where we ever do a film and Will and Martin aren’t some way a part of it. It’s been a huge honor for both of us.”

Yara Shahidi had the cutest message for Charles Melton‘s birthday over the weekend.

The Riverdale star celebrated his 29th birthday on Saturday, January 4th.

“Happy Birthday Melton 🌟 thank you for being the Daniel to my Natasha,” Yara wrote with a pic of the two of them from the set of The Sun is Also a Star.

She continues, “I’ll always remember the day we met in our screen test and I shared a piece of my @theconfectioncoop pop tart with you because 1) that was the beginning of our crazy fun adventure called The Sun Is Also A Star and 2) you will always owe me half a pop tart 🌟.”

Charles replied to her post, “❤️❤️❤️ Awh Yara 😭.”

The three CW stars spend the New Year holiday together on a sunny beach on a spontaneous getaway.

“Happy New Year from the kids that bought tickets to a beautiful place extremely last minute. Here’s to another year of blessings and spontaneity ☀️ @melton @kat.mcnamara,” Camrus shared on his Instagram with a collage of Polaroid pics.

Katherine added with another group pic, “Good vibes and ocean tides…”

Later on, Katherine also shared a gorgeous pic of her enjoying the ocean waters.

The 20-year-old actress met up with friends like Kaitlyn Dever and Jameela Jamil at the event.
