In the upcoming flick The Half Of It, the two form an unlikely friendship as they vie after the same popular girl in school.
Here’s a synopsis: Bookish introvert Ellie Chu (Lewis) is perfectly content with her life: watching old movies with her widowed father and ghostwriting papers for her high school classmates to help pay the bills.
But her side gig turns personal when lovelorn jock Paul Munsky (Diemer) hires her to craft love notes to Aster Flores (Alexxis Lemire) — a smart, popular girl out of both their leagues… and Ellie’s own secret crush.
Just as the duo’s plan begins to work, a new wrinkle emerges: Ellie and Paul have fallen into a deep friendship neither could have anticipated, giving rise to a surprising love triangle.
Leah Lewis is getting started on her upcoming movie, The Half of It.
The 22-year-old actress, who you might recognize from CW’s Charmed, will star as Ellie Chu, a shy, introverted, Chinese-American, straight-A student, who finds herself helping the school jock woo the girl they both secretly love.
In the process, each teaches the other about the nature of love as they find connection in the most unlikely of places.
The upcoming movie also stars Daniel Diemer as Paul Munksy; Alexxis Lemire as Aster Flores; Becky Ann Baker as Mrs. Geselschap; Catherine Curtin as Colleen Munsky, Wolfgang Novogratz as Trig Carson and Enrique Murciano as Deacon Flores.
