Billie Eilish picked up the big award of the night, Record of the Year for “Everything I Wanted,” at the 2021 Grammys, airing from Los Angeles on Sunday evening (March 14)!
During her acceptance speech, the 19-year-old expressed how she didn’t think she was going to win, but Megan Thee Stallion was going to.
“This is really embarrassing for me. Megan, girrrl. I was gonna write a speech about how you deserve this, but I was like, there’s no way they’re gonna choose me,” she said with a laugh.
“I was like it’s hers. You deserve this. You had a year that I think is un-toppable. You are a queen. I want to cry thinking about how much I love you. You are so beautiful, you’re so talented. You deserve everything in the world. I think about you constantly. I root for you always,” Billie gushed. “You deserve it, honestly. Genuinely, this goes to her. Can we just cheer for Megan Thee Stallion please?”
Billie and Finneasperformed the winning song earlier in the night. They also won the award for Best Song Written For Visual Media for “No Time To Die.â€

Finneas is opening up about his sister Billie Eilish‘s new song “my future“!
The track was released last week, and now the older brother is dishing on his thoughts about it.
Finneas joined Billie and their dad Patrick onme & dad radio, where they talked about the song, which they of course worked on together.
“Today’s a special day because ‘my future’ has been released,” Billie shares about the song. “I am so excited. We made this song towards the beginning of quarantine. It was raining a lot. I had little puppies around and I was feeling a lot of things and I’ve been very excited to put this one out and I’m ecstatic, I’ve gotta tell you.â€
“I really like this song,” Finneas says. “I feel like this song is an evolution of you as a songwriter and a good representation of the more optimistic mindset that we have had I think… you oscillate during a period like this between like a pessimistic mindset and a optimistic mindset and I feel like this is the optimistic day.â€
“It’s a real real thing that we should be talking about and thinking about — you know, the future’s exciting man and growth is important,†Billie said.
Patrick chimed in with his thoughts on the song, saying, “I know it’s shocking but I like it… this is really incredibly special and beautiful production and wonderful singing and great song.”
“I think it shows a lot of growth and I am happy with it,” Billie added.
Billie Eilish is opening up about a new song she recently worked on!
The 18-year-old musician shared about the track she made with her brother Finneas while in quarantine.
“The song I was talking about earlier that we wrote a couple weeks ago that felt so right was … I wish I could sing it for you, but I can’t. It was just about, there was this part in it—I needed to say this—which was I know I’m supposed to feel unhappy right now because of this break and because I’m not seeing anybody,” Billie told Apple Music‘s Zane Lowe.
“I feel like there’s this kind of thing that I feel like is floating around of like you’re supposed to be missing people,” she continued. “You’re supposed to be missing this person and be missing people in general. I kind of have this feeling of like, I miss my really close friends, I miss people, of course I do, but I also at the same time am liking the space.â€
