“I’ve just been sat in this position, at the piano. Got the guitar here. I wrote a couple of times. Definitely finding it hard to get motivated when all I can do is sit in my living room. Wrote a few tunes, been doing a bit of cooking for myself,” Niall explained on The Tonight Show.
He continued,” I’ve got really bad knees and I’ve never run before but I ran about 15 kilometers this week…just to get out of the house. Other than that, general lounging!”
Later in the show, Niall also showed off his at home golfing skills!
Niall Horan is opening up about getting recognized in public.
The 26-year-old musician shared with Apple Music about a crazy encounter he had at a sports game.
“I was at a football game in Spain a few years ago, and it was Chelsea versus Atletico Madrid, and I was standing in the Chelsea crowd waiting to go in the turnstiles,” Niall said. “And then some fans had realized that I was at the game and went looking for me and found me.”
“They start screaming my name. ‘Niall, Niall!’ In the middle of about 10 thousand Chelsea fans and I was just like, ‘Really?’” he continued. “I kept my head down. I was trying my best to keep my head down, anyway and I had nowhere to go. And then the football fans turn into football fans, “Ooh, One Direction.” I was just like, ‘Oh, god.’ I nearly cried. I was on crutches, at the time, as well. So I couldn’t go [anywhere].”
The 26-year-old “Heartbreak Weather” crooner shared that he only misses certain parts of being in the band.
“Sometimes when you’ll be at a gig or something had happened and it would remind you of something that happened onstage years ago, like, ‘Oh, jeez. I wish the boys were here to see that.’” Niall told Apple Music.
“Random … I don’t know. Something might happen random in the crowd or an interview in a foreign country might turn a corner and it might’ve happened before or something like that and it’ll just remind me. And I’ll just start laughing or something, but yeah. There are times. Certain parts of it.”
“Probably the only thing we don’t talk about is music. And it’s our own fault because we’ve all ended up releasing music around the same time. And I’ve had people coming up to me, like mates of mine who know me really well and saying, ‘Is this some sort of publicity stunt that all of you are releasing tunes at the same time?’ We were just like … It’s the only thing that we don’t talk about, is that,” Niall said.
“I remember, at one point, there was five out of seven weeks there was a One Direction member releasing a tune or something like that, at one point last year. And I was just like, ‘Jesus, we should’ve probably talked about this.’”
When asked, “Does the person know that all these tracks are about them?” Niall responded, “Oh, I’m sure. Yeah, I’m sure. But I think I’ve covered all angles of the relationship from everyone’s point of view, which is good.”
“I mean, it’ll probably still sound really selfish, but my idea when I was writing them was that it was written from other people’s angles and stuff,” he added. “But listen, it’s all good. It’s all good now.”
Fans think Hailee Steinfeld‘s “Wrong Direction” song is about Niall as well. The two split in 2018.
In the vid, Niall and some of his co-writers, including longtime collaborator Teddy Geiger, can be seen listening to a demo of the track.
“I’ve truly never experienced a feeling like I felt whilst writing this song. I rarely take videos of studio stuff but I had to capture this. Hope you love it. B&W,” Niall wrote.
It features Niall showing off lots of fun outfits, dance moves, and facial expressions along with the catchy song.
“Heartbreak Weather is out everywhere and so is the video,” Niall wrote on Instagram. “This entire creative process has been incredible , thrilled to share it all with you.”
