Uh oh…looks like there’s a bit of trouble happening on the Sam & Cat set, guys.
After the show’s big win on Saturday at the 2014 Kids’ Choice Awards for both Favorite TV Show and Favorite TV Actress for Ariana Grande, Deadline reports that everything might be up in the air on a future for the show.
“There has been talk about discord on the set, with emotions running high and Jennette McCurdy and Grande sometimes showing up late. The grueling, 40-episode shoot has been taxing on everyone. Additionally, McCurdy had been going through a difficult time in her personal life for the past six months and recently had to deal with the leak of racy photos, while Grande‘s music career has taken off a big time,” the site writes. Eek!
The rumors continued, “I hear things came to a head last week when the show came close to a shutdown. Then this past weekend, McCurdy publicly accused Nickelodeon of unfair treatment. She also fueled speculation about a rift with long-time best friend Grande by un-following Grande on social media and not joining her co-star at [the awards, where creator Dan] Schneider receiving a lifetime achievement award.”
WHAT DO YOU THINK is happening? Do you think the show will end?
Jennette McCurdy goes head to head with Danielle Morrow once again in this new still from Sam & Cat‘s upcoming episode.
In “#SuperPsycho,” Nora (Morrow) makes a return and targets Dice as a way to get revenge on Sam (McCurdy). With nowhere else to turn, Sam and Cat (Ariana Grande) are forced to ask for some unlikely help from Nevel (Reed Alexander).

TELL JJJ: How excited are you to see Jennette McCurdy reconnect with her old pals?
In the episode, “The Killer Tuna Jump,” when Sam (Jennette McCurdy) meets Cat’s (Ariana Grande) friend Jade (Gillies) from Hollywood Arts, Sam and Jade become friends, leaving Cat feeling a little left out.
Taking some questionable advice from Nona, Cat decides to retaliate by “stealing” a friend of Sam’s – and it’s Freddie Benson (Kress)! As Cat tries to get cozy with Freddie, Sam finds out and goes after a friend of Cat’s – Robbie Shapiro (Bennett)! The jealousy comes to a crashing climax at Fisherman’s Wharf, where Dice has hired Sam to jump her motorcycle over a tank full of vicious man-biting tuna

The show just got a double season order — which means a total of 40 episodes! (via THR)
“It’s a very tall order but it also feels great. The show has been so well-received and competition is greater than ever these days. Making a hit show is even more challenging today than, say, 10 years ago,” creator/writer/producer Dan Schneider shared. “It’s a little daunting to do 40 episodes in your first season, but what makes it fun is the success, because we’re all sharing in that.”
Jennettetweeted, “Sam & Cat got picked up for 20 more episodes! I get to be mean and eat quality meat for 6 more months and get paid for it!!”
Also, be sure to watch this weekend’s new episode “#TextingCompetition.” In the episode, Cat (Ariana Grande) discovers Sam (McCurdy) is really fast at texting and convinces her to compete in a texting competition against a sweet boy, Butler, who has an overbearing mom.
It premieres on Saturday, July 13th @ 8PM ET/PT on Nickelodeon. Check out a clip below!
