Vanessa Hudgens Apologizes For Coronavirus Comments She Made on Instagram Live
Vanessa Hudgens is issuing an apology after she received major backlash from an Instagram Live on Monday night (March 16).
The 31-year-old actress made some comments about the Coronavirus that didn’t sit well with anyone.
“Um, yeah, ’til July sounds like a bunch of bulls–t. I’m sorry, but like, it’s a virus, I get it, like, I respect it, but at the same time I’m like, even if everybody gets it, like yeah, people are going to die, which is terrible but like, inevitable?†Vanessa said.
The next day, Vanessa went on her Instagram Story and apologized for what she said and told everyone to stay inside.
“Hey guys, so yesterday, I did an Instagram Live and I realized today that some of my comments are being taken out of context. It’s a crazy time, a crazy crazy time. And I am at home and in lockdown and that’s what I hope you guys are doing too. In full quarantine and staying safe and sane,†she said. “I don’t take this situation lightly by any means. I am home.â€

The High School Musical co-stars joined forces on TikTok after Ashley re-created the film’s iconic “We’re All in This Together†dance.
Vanessa added in her own video as a duet, performing the song while pouring a glass of wine.

In a recent interview with THR, Vanessa revealed that when she started her career, she wanted to do indies.
“I wanted to be the indie girl and just do really dark dramas, but one thing led to another…(Laughs.),” she shared. “I enjoy having variety in my career.”
Vanessa adds, “At the end of the day, I think that will give me longevity. I want to keep it exciting for myself. I want to continue to push myself to places I haven’t been to because that’s how you grow — in your craft and as a person.”

The 31-year-old actress is no stranger to Broadway and she’s a veteran when it comes to the world of musicals. She has said that West Side Story changed the course of her life!
“I remember watching Natalie Wood in West Side Story for the first time, and I’m kind of always going to think of her as Maria,” Vanessa told Bustle. “[That movie] kind of changed the course of my life — OK, let’s be real, I was probably only like four years old when I saw it — but if I hadn’t seen that film I don’t know if I would have been as passionate about musical theater as I am today.”
Also in attendance at the opening night was Euphoria actress Storm Reid.
