'Superman & Lois' Officially Renewed For Season 2!!

Superman & Lois will be flying in for another season!

It was JUST announced that the new CW series, which stars Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch in the title roles, has been officially renewed for a second season.

The announcement comes just hours before the second episode of season one airs.

“The phenomenal multiplatform debut of Superman & Lois, which delivered for us in a big way on both a linear and streaming basis, is a testament to the creativity, hard work and dedication of the talented people who worked tirelessly in front of and behind the camera, especially in this challenging environment,” CW President Mark Pedowitz said in a statement, via Variety. “We are thrilled to now have two brand-new bonafide hits in Superman & Lois and Walker, both of which have been renewed for next season along with 11 other of our shows, further positioning us for continued strength and stability for next season.

Superman & Lois had a massive debut last week, with a two hour premiere event. The pilot episode drew in a ton of viewers, and even became one of the most streamed series on The CW ever – with just ONE episode!

Superman & Lois now joins 12 other CW shows that have received early renewals.

Superman & Lois premiered earlier this week to a massive audience!

The new CW series stars Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch in the title roles, as well as Alexander Garfin and Jordan Elsass as their sons.

With just the one episode premiere, Superman & Lois has already become one of the top five most streamed shows on The CW!

The brand new show joins Riverdale, All American, Legacies and fellow new series Walker in the top five.

According to Deadline, Superman & Lois‘ series premiere earned a “0.4 in the demo and 1.71 million viewers, marking the largest audience for a DC series since the ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ crossover episode of The Flash on December 10, 2019.”

Walker premiered earlier this year, also to massive success. It was the most watched series premiere since DC’s Legends of Tomorrow in 2016. The Walker premiere drew in 2.43 million viewers.

If you missed it, The CW recently ordered two more episodes of Superman & Lois, and renewed 12 shows already!

This Is How 'Superman & Lois' Is Different From Other Superhero Shows

Superman & Lois premieres on The CW tonight (February 23)!!

The brand new series will kick off with a two hour premiere, an hour and a half pilot episode followed by a half hour special.

Though Superman & Lois is the latest superhero show to join the roster at The CW, it’s a little different than other shows.

“Whenever you do any of these shows, you want to make them slightly different,” showrunner Todd Helbing told Deadline. “We just approached this as much as we could like a feature — from the aspect ratio to the cinematography to the look to the design of the house and farm. We are competing with shows on cable and streamers…we wanted to be able to do that and offer audiences something of equal quality.”

The new series also focuses more on the family aspect of Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois Lane (Bitsie Tulloch), with their sons Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) and Jordan (Alexander Garfin).

“Part of what I am hoping audiences respond to in our show is that this couple — even though she’s this dynamic journalist and even though he is Superman — are incredibly relatable and they are dealing with the same issues that normal people deal with,” Bitsie shared with Deadline.

Superman & Lois will premiere TONIGHT (February 23) at 8pm ET/PT on The CW. Click inside for 20+ photos from the premiere and the episode synopsis… More Here! »

The official season one trailer for Superman & Lois has arrived!

The new video plays out like a comic book for the latest addition to the slate of DC Comics series.

In Superman & Lois, after years of facing megalomaniacal supervillains, monsters wreaking havoc on Metropolis, and alien invaders intent on wiping out the human race, the world’s most famous superhero, The Man of Steel aka Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) and comic books’ most famous journalist, Lois Lane (Bitsie Tulloch), come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever – dealing with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.

Complicating the already daunting job of raising two boys, Clark and Lois must also concern themselves with whether or not their sons Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) and Jordan (Alexander Garfin) could inherit their father’s Kryptonian superpowers as they grow older.

Returning to Smallville to handle some Kent family business, Clark and Lois are reacquainted with Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui), a local loan officer who also happens to be Clark’s first love, and her Fire Chief husband Kyle Cushing (Erik Valdez). The adults aren’t the only ones rediscovering old friendships in Smallville as the Kent sons are reacquainted with Lana and Kyle’s rebellious daughter, Sarah (Inde Navarrette).

Of course, there’s never a dull moment in the life of a superhero, especially with Lois’ father, General Samuel Lane (Dylan Walsh) looking for Superman to vanquish a villain or save the day at a moment’s notice. Meanwhile, Superman and Lois’ return to idyllic Smallville is set to be upended when a mysterious stranger (Wolé Parks) enters their lives.

The Superman & Lois series premiere takes place on Tuesday, February 23rd at 9pm ET/PT on The CW!

The kids of Superman & Lois have been cast!

The upcoming series is the latest spinoff in the Arrowverse and will follow Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch‘s characters.

Playing the couple’s children will be actors Alexander Garfin (left) and Jordan Elsass (right), who in the show, are believed to be teenage twins, Deadline reports.

Alexander will play Jordan, who is wildly intelligent, but his mercurial temperament and social anxiety limits his interactions with people, and consequently, Jordan prefers to spend most of his free time alone, playing video games.

Jordan will be playing Jonathan, a clean-cut, modest and kind-hearted, with an aw-shucks attitude that somehow doesn’t seem dated.

Superman & Lois has been picked up to series and can likely be expected to premiere this fall!
