The 27-year-old entertainer has just been nominated for her first ever Emmy Award for acting at the 2021 Emmy Awards!
Keke is nominated in the Outstanding Actress In a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series category for her work on her digital series Turnt Up with the Taylors.
Keke Palmer is opening up about her early days as a child actress.
The now 27-year-old entertainer talked about feeling misunderstood as a child star and more on the Ladies First with Laura Brown podcast.
“At a young age, as a child [in the] entertainer world, your emotions are always the last thing that people care about,” she shared. “I think you get really quickly into being a people-pleaser and trying to be everything that everybody wants you to be. And so I think in a lot of that, you end up being misunderstood.”
“I’ve fought a lot of that most of my adult life, and I’m still new into my adult life,” Keke added. “And I think that’s something that I work towards every day is to not worry about people not understanding me, because I understand myself.”
Keke‘s first acting roles started when she was around 10 years old, and she had a lot of big ones, including Akeelah and the Bee and Madea’s Family Reunion, as well as guest roles on ER, Cold Case and Law & Order: SVU. She then almost had her own Disney Channel show, before landing her hit Nickelodeon series True Jackson, VP a few years later.
“ðŸ™ðŸ¾ðŸ™ðŸ¾ðŸ™ðŸ¾,” Keke simply said on Instagram, along with the news.
Project details are being kept under wraps at this time, but we do know that Jordan also wrote and is producing the film, which already has a July 22, 2022 release date.
Keke is also set to host and executive produce a brand new food competition series for Disney+, titled Foodtastic, which is in production now and will premiere later this year.
In the show, teams of contestants are challenged to create whimsical, larger-than-life, Disney-inspired works of art made out of all types of food including everything from cheese and butter to fruits and vegetables.
In each self-contained episode, three teams of food artists transform iconic characters into extravagant masterpieces that tell a story from Disney’s legendary IP. These food sculptures will be judged purely on their design, technical skills and narrative, and not by taste. Unused food from each competition will be donated to local food banks.
Keke Palmer hits up the 2020 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which aired on Thursday (November 26) from New York City.
The 27-year-old actress and singer performed her song “Dreamcatcher” atop the Coach float.
Also in the parade was Tori Kelly, who sang her new song “25th,” from her recently released A Tori Kelly Christmas holiday album. She performed atop the Lifetime network’s “Christmas In Town Square” float.
Bebe Rexha also joined in on the fun to perform her hit song “Baby, I’m Jealous” on the Jennie-O float.
“Happy happy thanksgiving â¤ï¸ðŸ™ðŸ¼,” Bebetweeted that day, adding after parade, “I definitely have the biggest turkey this year ðŸ’â€â™€ï¸.”

Keke Palmer has a new song and it’s encouraging people to get out and vote!
As election day comes closer, the 26-year-old entertainer dropped a new track and video called “Actually Vote.”
The new political song was written by Finneas, Dear Evan Hansen songwriting duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, and Kaleena Zanders. It was also produced by Finneas.
“We can win by a landslide, we got power in numbers. Just show up and you’re gonna be the GOAT if you actually vote,” she sings in the song. “Don’t just stand on the sidelines, shoot your shot and beat the buzzer. Get off the couch, off your a–, off the fence and off your phone, and actually vote.”
“Does this look like 2016? You ain’t stayin’ at home. It should be an easy decision, use your intuition, don’t need no more with that clown politician runnin’ his mouth on my damn television,” Keke says in the song.
