Liv Hewson opened up about that particular scene during her visit to Build Series in NYC this week.
“Luke Snellen, our director, has a very musical sensibility about the way he works. When the camera wasn’t rolling in between takes or setups, he had music playing,” Liv, who plays Dorrie in the movie, explained. “He had bits of the soundtrack planned out before the movie was finished. He’s a musical dude. Whenever we were dancing, even if it wasn’t the music he planned to use, he would have music playing for us to dance to.”
She adds about that particular scene at the end of the film, “We filmed it over a day and then the last take of the last shot, Luke just didn’t call cut. The entire cast is in the diner, with all the extras, and we just lose it.”
