Shay Mitchell is opening up about raising her biracial daughter Atlas.

The Dollface actress recently shared that she is already teaching her eight-month-old daughter about activism amid the Black Lives Matter movement.

“We’re reading books, one of her nighttime books is A Is for Activist. We’re starting her right now because I think it’s so important to educate them at a young age so they know that truly no matter what you look like, you deserve to love and be loved without judgment, be all and end all and that’s it,” Shay told ET. “Especially coming from a mixed family herself. I hope it’s in our generation and I really pray that it’s in hers as well that there will be a huge change and I slowly see it right now.”

She also dished on teaching Atlas to be an avid hand washer.

“We have started already. It’s part of her nighttime routine. She’s touching everything, putting everything in her mouth, so you want to start them as early as possible,” she said. “It’s part of the time she goes to bed, we’re like, ‘It’s time to wash your hands.’ I sing ‘Happy Birthday’ twice over. I may or may not do a little dance, it’s a whole routine, but she’s certainly laughing the whole time, and it’s definitely something she’ll look back on, hopefully with fond memories.”

Shay Mitchell is dishing on marriage!

The 33-year-old Dollface actress opened up about whether she would get married to her partner Matte Babel.

“A lot of people ask, it’s never been something I really cared for,” Shay told ET. “And I love weddings, love weddings. I can watch them all day long. I love attending, I love being a part of my friends’ [weddings], anybody’s to be quite honest. It’s just not something I care for for myself and it’s something that Matte and I have spoken about.”

“He’s been like, ‘You sure?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, we work so well right now.’ It’s great and this dynamic just works for us,” she added. “It may not always be the correct way but it works. That’s how I sort of have to go, you know, that’s how I do it.”

The 33-year-old actress recently shared if she and partner Matte Babel will have another child.

“You know, if that is how everything goes, then awesome, I would welcome it,” she told Access.”It is such a crazy thing, as I’ve learned from this past experience. You can only hope for so much and we’ll see what happens. What’s meant to be will be. I’m just as curious and as excited as I think my mom is!”

Shay also dished on how Matte is as a father.

“He is the best! He’s the best dad. He’s so in love with her, and they just have such a special connection too, so it’s incredible. I see her every day having him wrapped around her finger more and more,” she gushed.

Shay and Matte welcomed their baby girl Atlas back in October 2019!

Shay Mitchell, Ariana Grande, Francia Raisa, Chloe x Halle and Luna Blaise have all shared reminders on social media that primaries are happening across the country.

States that are voting today include New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Rhode Island, South Dakota and Montana, as well as Washington, D.C.

“There is so much going on at the moment that it’s hard to remember it’s an election year,” Shay wrote on Twitter. “If your state’s primary is today please remember to send in your ballots!!!”
