Premiere dates are here! Or should we say “date”?!
Disney Channel has revealed the premiere date for the upcoming Descendants: The Royal Wedding special, as well as the premiere of the new series Disney’s Magic Bake-Off, which are happening on the same night.

“Descendants introduced a fantasy world of stories and characters, anchored in Disney mythology. For the past six years, it captivated young viewers and grew to become among Disney Channel’s biggest entertainment franchises ever.,” Disney Channel president Gary Marsh said in a statement. “It had the benefit of immensely talented stars, who we now welcome back for this animated ‘Royal Wedding’ special that will bridge the audience to what we hope will be a new chapter of compelling Descendants stories and characters yet to come.”

Descendants brought us the songs “Rotten to the Core,” “Evil Like Me,” “Did I Mention,” “If Only,” “Be Our Guest,” “Set It Off,” and “Believe.”
Here’s a synopsis: Driven by exciting music and performance, the story is set in the idyllic kingdom of Auradon where Ben, the benevolent teenaged son of the King and Queen (Beast and Belle from Beauty and the Beast), is poised to take the throne. His first proclamation: offer a chance at redemption to Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay, the trouble-making offspring of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella de Vil and Jafar, who have been imprisoned on the forbidden Isle of the Lost for 20 years.
These villainous descendants are allowed into Auradon for the first time to attend prep school alongside the teenage progeny of Fairy Godmother, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Mulan. Only time will tell if these evil teens follow in the footsteps of their wicked parents!

Speaking with J-14 recently, the King Ben of Auradon actor revealed that he’s definitely open for any future projects.
“It’s a great franchise, and it was a lot of fun to be a part of,” Mitchell says. “There’s a few things that…I don’t know yet. There’s always a chance on the horizon. I’d be excited to do it.â€
Mitchell adds that while he hasn’t heard of any new project as of yet, he’d still return as Ben.
“He’s just such a pure, benevolent character and it always make me feel nice, kind of changes of my behavior,†he shared. “When you play a character, you kind of subconsciously start adopting a few of those traits, so it was always really nice playing Ben.â€
The upcoming film centers on a group of high school seniors, who find their friendships and love lives colliding thanks to a stranded pop star, a stolen keg, a squad of competitive dancers, a mysterious woman covered in tin foil, and an epic party at the local Waffle Town after a snowstorm hits a small midwestern town on Christmas Eve.
